Popped in to finalise my PP, looked at the floor car that just arrived, the rear lights are indeed different! And the number plate lights are LED.

How did it look in midnight blue? Is it still there?
I was going to order Midnight Blue but as i couldn't see one in the flesh i went with CSG.

Who did you place your order with as i bought mine from Barloworld Glen Waverley as well

It looked pretty okay but I reckon I liked CSG better. It's still there today (the cars came in on Monday I think), it's speced with leather and the driver assistance package as far as I can tell.

I placed my order with Roy, he's okay-ish but they didn't really budge with the price (5k for PP on top of the GTI). lol some dude on fb said he wasn't the friendliest (check out their fb page). I guess they knew I wanted the car so I would just fork out the cash anyway so... :\

There was some price discrepancy on the invoice (don't' think it was his fault) and couldn't work out where an extra $80-100 was coming from (they removed something from my invoice that I didn't need so was comparing the new one and the old one I signed). He took the extra cost off but when I asked him more about why, he kinda was trying to make up something (cause I think he honestly just didn't know) about VW increasing the price of the GTI and such (but the brochure in store listed the same price as it did last December).

Is that 5k on top of a base, "non-drive away" GTI?
Do you order a base model or extras? If you don't mind me asking what price did you pay?

It's 5k on top of whatever they charge you for the GTI, so in essence PP costs $5k. Mine was totally stock. I think I'm a bit embarrassed by the price I would rather not say lol. I'm not the best when it comes to bargaining. :\

RRP of a base GTI with DSG is $43,990, the PP RRP is $47,990, so a $4k difference. $49k drive away isn't terrible!

Or do you mean $5k above the base manual?

Isn't the RRP of a DSG $48,670 drive away? (Redbook lists it as 48,628 for VIC) That's what the website tells me anyway:

So it would be about $53-54 wouldn't it?

When I was ordering my GTI the dealer said there had been a $500 price rise on 1 March, although I don't think I've seen this reflected anywhere so unsure what the go was there.

Whether that means the PP was adjusted by more is possible, but I was definitely told the PP was $4k more than base GTI (with DSG).

I was able to negotiate around 10% off the GTI, but never tried the same deal on the PP as I'd already decided by then that I didn't want one - there may be less flexibility or desire to reduce the price of them.

I got mine for $45,990 drive away brand new but I got a bit of a discount because I know someone who works in logistics for AHG

So if you put it that way, mine cost 55k but fully optioned and i understand you cannot get sunroof on the PP, not sure if you can get leather or not. So if you put 5k on top, it is 60k, minus sunroof would be around $57500.

So if it is costing around that much, i cannot see a fully optioned Golf R costing no less than 61k
