My first choice colour was Lapiz Blue but the 5 month ordering time (for a manual) was too long so I got it in white. The monochrome palette actually works well.

I believe the three year warranty was included and I opted for an extra two years at a discounted price. Only reason is because I think I'll finally settle on this car as a long term option. It's literally got everything I need.

yeah 3 year is standard & extra 2 is like $1500 or so extra.

It was $1,800 odd for the extra 2 years but they gave it to me for $1,600.

Hey guys,

Ordered my Lapiz blue MK 7 R a few weeks ago, hoping to get it this or next week. I'm stepping out of a Subaru BRZ which is one of the best handling cars I've owned but really underpowered and impractical.

Also owned a MK IV GTI a number of years ago. VW have come a long, long way since then!

no, not interested in those options at all.

$55k is the best actual sale price for a 2016 dsg R I've found in Perth recently - without the 5 year warranty - so i rekon i would be doing pretty well to knock a grand off that & get the extra 2 years warranty at $1800 included.

I called Sydney VW dealer on Friday to ask about ordering a new GTI - manual, Red with leather seats and was told 6 month wait. That sounds crazy to me.

Does this sound right to others?

Well in November last year I was told that if I wanted a manual R in blue it would be May 2016 before I got it, so it's possible based on what is in the country or already on a boat.

My manual R landed on the 2nd June and will hopefully be complied and at the dealer this Friday. 54k with assistance no roof. Probably will pay for the additional warranty.
