One more sleep. This old bloke is excited about getting the new Golf R 7.5. It is kinda funny, my current car has around 365rwkw and well over 750nm of torque but this new car has had me awake of a night. I think I have read all, seen all about it that the 'net can offer.

The stars seem to be aligning and I'm pretty close to ordering mine. Can people share what they're paying? I've seen in the other thread that it has been possible to get a Wolfie down to 62500 (with sunroof, would you believe) but Ive not seen anything close to that from the dealers I've talked to.

I wonder that myself, only way I can see them getting 62k for Wolfie would be corporate discount/finance or novated lease.

I paid a little less than 65k. DAP and extra 2 year warranty from VW. No sunroof but added tint and weather shields. Was on the showroom floor so no waiting and at my age a few saving a few thousand with shopping around and waiting months wasn't worth the cost. Brilliant car after 220ks.

Yep - I'm paying about about 61k fully optioned (DAP, 5 year and sunroof). That's fleet pricing, as well.

I think the guy who got the Wolfie for 62500 has scored the deal of the year! At the end of the day I'm quibbling over a few k and it's not really worth it (the dealers have to make their margins, too) but I'd have paid the extra few k to get that sound system and mags!

I was decoding my vin number last night (I have too much time on my hands) and it looks like my model may be a MY18 model. I read that VW do the model years from 1 August - 31 July, so being that my car is being built in August 2017 it's actually a MY18 build.

Put a deposit on a new R 7.5 fully optioned last week, was able to score it for 59200 drive away from hunter valley vw, speak to scott

anyway, after some deligation and back and forth, was able to score a wolfie wagon in blue, no sunroof (thats a bugger, but oh well), for 66 drive away. Thats with euro plate, and weather sheilds and boot liner added in. Maybe not as good of a deal as the hatch, but i reckon its a good deal overall. Also novemeber delivery instead of jan/feb for the hatch that was on order.

looking forward to it now.

Spoke to my dealer today to try and get my build week number.
He claims it is already being built as we speak
Hopefully it will be on the tracking site in the next couple of weeks!

Hi everybody. First time posting here, but I've just ordered myself a MK7.5 Golf R with manual transmission. I've always had VW's in the past (a couple of Polo's and then a Golf 2.0 FSI). I was debating either a GTI or R and after test driving them both there was no doubt, the R was epic.

Dealer said delivery date would be the end of Dec so unfortunately a long wait ahead! I also managed to negotiate the drive-away price down to $53,500 (Manual transmission and no DAP or sunroof). I know people have negotiated lower than that, but I'm happy with it and at least I didn't pay full price

So apparently my car has been built and left the factory. Should be on the ship soon. Looking at an early to mid October delivery.

Was thinking of changing my order to the Wolfsburg as the carbon Nappa seats and dynaudio are things I want but I couldn't handle the wait until January.
Hopefully I don't regret it.
