Well after a few weeks of waiting - I have received my FIRST ever VW - a Golf 7.5 TSI110 Highline with R/Line and Infotainment.....first thoughts are the infotainment is definitely worth it (although the GM mentioned he is currently unable to order cars with it....right across the range)

Think I am gunna enjoy this

Looks great, upgrade to the slimline plates, they fit much better than the standard 'not designed to fit Euro cars' Oz version and only cost $160 ish.

Yeah, I did that but I also took off the black plate holder as well so my slimline plate mounts directly to the bumper.

Did u take front mount off? Can u post pic? Did it come off easily? L want to take mount off my Tiguan rline when it get here.

Did u take front mount off? Can u post pic? Did it come off easily? L want to take mount off my Tiguan rline when it get here.

Yeah, I did. On the R for some reason the mounts are slightly different and I had to drill out the plastic retaining studs. Apparently on other VWs you can just apply pressure to the centre of the studs with a screwdriver and they pop apart.

I then went the whole hog and bought Bumper Plugs to fill the holes (5 in total with 1 behind the plate).

I then re-drilled the plate screw holes to centre the plate on the bumper (vertically) to make sure it looked right.

Took me about 10mins once I committed a drill bit to the process!

Yeah, I did. On the R for some reason the mounts are slightly different and I had to drill out the plastic retaining studs. Apparently on other VWs you can just apply pressure to the centre of the studs with a screwdriver and they pop apart.

I then went the whole hog and bought Bumper Plugs to fill the holes (5 in total with 1 behind the plate).

I then re-drilled the plate screw holes to centre the plate on the bumper (vertically) to make sure it looked right.

Took me about 10mins once I committed a drill bit to the process!

I also order from bumper plugs, and have receive them, now just waiting for my Tiguan to arrive. I've heard that the holes are a bit small and u have to use some tape to build up the plugs to make them fix. Did u have same problem?

The holes were quite a bit too big. I just used a tiny dot of superglue behind each one to hold them in place rather than building up the plugs. They've been in place for over 6-7 months without any issues (including car washes).

If I ever end up having to replace the front bumper due to damage, I'll ask the crash repairers to not drill the extra holes!
