Half hoping it doesn't get built until Jan 2015 (delivered late Feb I guess) as requested on my contract given that current orders will only land in December. Anyone actually know how legitimate these "6-7 month" wait times are?

Sadly yes (on the delivery front). A fair case is to assume around 12 weeks for delivery from build, assuming all goes well. There are exceptions of course (both positive and negative).

I ordered a Highline in January 2014, still waiting and all I have thus far is build week 30 and may turn up Sept / Aug. 9-10 months wait!!!

I suspect someone over in Deutschland forgot about my order for 4-5 months. Not happy

My order was for a fully optioned Highline TSI wagon in March, arrived at the dealer late last month. Unfortunately, haven't been able to find a buyer for my old car and it's lost around 5k value on the trade-in since ordering so at this stage, I may not be able to afford the new one if the old car doesn't sell privately.

Wouldn't have had an issue had I been able to pick up the new one in March!

So I have had my car on order for about a month, I went for a Golf Wagon Highline TDI R Line. Pure White, Pano Roof, Driver Assist. I had a call from the dealer on Friday to say that its still scheduled for early December delivery with build to commence mid September. Seems to be a realistic time frame, just have to wait and see.

Must say i am most disappointed that xenons are no longer an option for the Highline.

At long last my MY2015 manual Golf R, which I ordered in April, built in July, has been loaded onto the Tongala at Zeebrugge, Belgium, and due to arrive in Melbourne on 30/09/14. I'm curious why my car didn't board the ship at Bremerhaven, Germany, where it originated from, which is much closer to the production plant in Wolfsburg. Anybody know?
