Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled
After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.
Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before.
We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

I agree 100%. The front view is just as good with the sharpness of the bi-xenons and the gloss black grill.

Finally picked up my car this morning, immediately followed by a good hard drive up and down the Mount Dandenong Tourist Road (for those of you in Victoria). 120km on the clock so far, and now to park it for the rest of the week because i'm flying to Brisbane this afternoon for work
It's quick, and i giggle every time it shifts under full throttle and lets out a might fart.

Just took delivery of my new Golf GTI. Pretty standard with DSG and sunroof. What an amazing machine! I had a mk. IV GTI but that's not a patch on this. I didn't notice the red strip lights in the door cards and sills till I got it in my garage. Beautiful! Came home via the Galston Gorge. If you know what that is you know why. Goes around corners faster than a car has any business doing!Golf GTI MY15 Night blue metallic

Hi guys
Would appreciate your thoughts on my situation.
In July this year, I ordered an auto MY16 GTI performance in Carbon Steel. I went a little unusual with the options, got the roof and DAP but no leather as I like the GTI cloth seats. I was told when signing the contract that because I was specifying a MY16 model (I wanted the push button start and keyless entry) it could be as late as Oct/Nov for delivery, which I was prepared to live with at the time.
My dealer then rang in September to say delivery would be delayed until late January. He shared with me the con number and a NADCOM extract that confirmed my vehicle would exit production in late November to arrive in Australia late January.
I just recently called up for a further update following the production date passing and have now been told that my vehicle won't be in Australia until May! I am obviously pretty frustrated and haven't got a lot of explanation out of my dealer or VW Australia customer service as to what has happened.
Has anyone else who is waiting on a GTI PP factory order had a similar experience or is it just me? And any advice on what I should do?
Cheers

After months of kicking tyres at vw dealers finally took the plunge and got a white dsg R initially was looking at the GTi but surpisingly my wife (i thought i was dreaming lol) talked me into getting the R. Picked it up yesterday and absolutely love it - no regrets whatsoever

I assume your sales contract has an estimated delivery date of October/November 2015. Surely, your contract can be cancelled if you wish, without penalty, given the disparity in delivery dates. I would.
