True Dutch, trouble with the RS diesel (or petrol for that matter) is the ridiculous wait times (fail Skoda Australia)

Good point, those wait times remind me of Mk6 GTI wait times in 2010.
Might be hard dropping from the R to the 103 though - at least a GTI gives you plenty in traffic or country. Biggest issue now is being forced to buy PP to access xenons, even as much as I hate the halogens I'd still save my coin and use the spare cash for a set of wheels and a stage 1 tune.

You can buy ours, now ex Perth. Sunroof, driver assist, black leather, white paint, 4500 km. Pity it is in the dealer with an electrical fault that may take months to fix, due to the lack of a tool to detach the roof lining. Not happy. Should have got the Hyundai I thought didn't match the Golf.

Unfortunately you've probably found the one area where the Hyundai will generally trump the Golf - reliability/warranty.
Hopefully it gets sorted sooner rather than later and you can get back to realising you bought the much better vehicle.

The wife and I finally ordered our standard GTI yesterday (white, manual, sunroof, DAP).
Still not sure whether we missed some sort of ordering cutoff which means we may need to wait till first quarter 2015 instead of November this year (bad enough)

Been nearly 10 weeks since I ordered my MK7 R and dealer still can't provide me with a build week. Keep saying it's on track for October delivery, which I find hard to believe if they can't even tell me when it's planned to be built?MK7 GOLF R -- FACTORY ORDERED 24/5/14 -- DELIVERED 28/10/14 -- LIMESTONE GREY -- DSG -- DRIVERS ASSIST PACKAGE -- SUNROOF --

On the issue of your dealer having not given you a build date, that's possible, as I only obtained mine earlier this month. However, badger the sales manager, and if that proves unhelpful, complain to Volkswagen Australia Customer Relations.
