No worries mate, I think you will find the delay wasn't the dealers fault they would have loved the sale to close off the financial year with. Your going to love the GTI mine still surprises me, in good ways, after 10000kms together.

It's finally in my garage. First impressions, very nice. I quite like the stock interior of the performance pack, that when driving I can't see the windscreen wipers, xenons and cornering lights, well insulated cabin, handling and nice little exhaust note when up shifting under hard acceleration. I need to be a little more easy on the loud pedal from a stationary start as I had what seemed to be axel tramp a couple of times which wasn't a nice feeling. I need to find my pressure gauge and see what the tyres are reading but I think I just need to get use to the DSG and find out how it responds best. I found the ride on the 19's and sport mode very easy going but when just cruising in normal mode, the shift points are terrible and makes the car feel way too sluggish. I don't think I like the stop/start feature but I do like the auto hold but it can be a but touchy in heavy stop start traffic. Haven't had the chance to use the radar cruise or auto park yet. The delivery went so smooth with the car being presented perfectly with 9km on the ODO. Very happy with the whole process of purchasing my first VW, even with the week delay as I feel it was well worth it.

I'm getting the fronts tinted and UV film put on the rears. Should come up ok against the white. Enjoy the driving!

The rears are tinted glass from the factory but do not have any UV protection built in.

Picked up my night Blue GTI PP yesterday. This is my first ever VW purchase, and so far I'm stoked with it! Great car to drive, and as mentioned previously it rides really nice on 19" wheels which is something that I was a bit worried about.
The DSG is something I need to get used to. Sports mode really lets the engine run, particularly in 3rd.
Can anyone tell me why it keeps telling me about 'SAFELOCK' everytime I turn the car off? And is activating the Traffic Alert system just a matter of ticking the box in the Advanced menu of the Radio?

Congratulations on the new purchase. They're a fun little car to drive. I think the Safelock is referring too that once locked, the car can't be opened from the inside, could be wrong though. With the Trafic Alert again, I think it needs to be activated via VCDS. Ticking those boxes on the screen won't help. I would like to get that activated too.

My "GT" (ie UK Highline) is 'in the UK and en route to dealership"! Unfortunately it's a bank holiday weekend here in NI so I won't have it until late next week (if at all next week).
I've never been more excited by anything in my life! I know it says "sports suspension' but it's only 1cm - and I see Golf GT's all the time that have the stereotypical VW 10inch arch gapIm scared incase I get one of those ones
