Button won't act as mute in 7.5 R - They have voice control. But maybe you could activate voice control and tell it to mute??? Have to try that and see if it works!

I rarely drive mine in race as the steering is too heavy and is only good in the twisties up glorious but noticed when you put it in race the windows rattle and the rest if the car starts buzzing heaps. Is it hard to disconnect the soundaktor?

Also a lack of mute button? Is there one ? For the life of me I can't find it, seems a massive over sight if there isn't.

First thing i did was unplug the bugger , so fake , just drive with ya windows down in a tunnel , sounds better .

Several videos on youtube , takes about 10mins unless you have fat hands .

Have to pay extra for voice control in the grid. Pushing the button just throws up a please contact your dealer

Did anyone who had rattles in their dash end up finding out what the problem was or got it fixed?

VW are pretty sure it isn't the Soundaktor and I'm hesitant to let these guys rip open my dash trying to find the problem.

Reading the R owners club in the Uk it seems to be fairly common - from the 7's right through..

It ended up being my 4th colour choice but now I'm so glad I got the grey. It was like it was meant to be.

Did you try grabbing the passenger seat belt height adjust. Mine buzzes from time to time.

Can't help with the dash, mine will buzz hear and there when giving it a bit

Yep, tried that many times. Tried the passenger sun visor. Tried every single thing that’s been mentioned online (trawled the VWROC forum in the UK)......

Will get the dealer to try the knee airbag for the dash rattles. But the passenger side, it sounds like something loose and rattling around in the door compartment (but of course it’s empty).

I had a rattle in the dash and the dealer said it was not the Soundakator. I used an OBDeleven to turn the Soundakator off and the rattle went away. Three days and no rattle, crossing fingers.
