Just noticed on the VW AU website you can now spec a Golf R with Dynaudio.

We all knew it was an option but nice to see it on the website now.

I'm currently looking at the hatch or wagon (so far leaning towards the wagon for the extra space!)

I'm curious if anyone is able to confirm if the wagon comes with the sweeping rear indicator lights like the hatch? The local dealership I visited over the weekend strangely couldn't confirm for me.

Yep - some of us were thinking of fitting the R wagon tail lights to our wagons if they did have the sweeping function but unfortunately they don't.

Unfortunately? To me you just saved yourself from spending up big for a nothing feature, now you can spend it on something meaningful.

Why are the wagon rear lights different from the hatch? I've never seen them side by side.

Anyone been watching their oil temp as they drive ? I initially thought it'd be pretty boring and static, but it does move up and down slowly with the amount of right boot used. I got it moving between 103 and 107 degrees last night with a bit of stick, and a 25 deg ambient. It'll be interesting to see what the peak is on a 40 degree day.

Hi guys, just wondering for the Golf R what you'd suggest regarding:

- tinting
- paint protection
- vinyl protection
- leather protection
- carpet & fabric protection

I'm in SA, & my car will be in Lapiz Blue, so I'm wondering whether the paint protection might be a good idea? Anyone have a view re Opticoat or Gyeon Mohs or some other type of paint protection? I'm certainly keen to do the tinting. And does a lifetime warranty for these things from the dealer have value??

I have had my alltrack paint protection coated
I used pomponazzi there is a extensive thread in the detailing section others have posted shots of their cars with opticoat/crystal coat check it out mate hope it helps

Nope no sweeping indicators on the wagons i tried when i got mine but they just don't make em
The extra space of the wagon is great tho swallows heaps of junk
Used the money i saved from indicators to buy myself a revo intake for my tdi
Turbo spools up quickly and i have noticed a bit more torque between 2000-3000rpm plus the carbon fibre looks good
Tho rooboy probably got the best deal with the new tv
