No, I odered it and waited about 3 months. But I think I read that quite often people would leave a deposit without having settled on a price, which I found ludicrous! !! Youve lost all your bargaining power.
I am seriously impressed jacs, next time I am buying a car I'll pay you to come along!
Does anyone know what the dealer invoice cost is for a DSG R?
I'm looking at buying a MY16 DSG with full options (DAP2 and Sunroof) or possibly a Wolfsburg in October and I want to know just how low I should be able to push the local dealers.
Currently seeing prices being quoted of around $63k for a DSG with all options or $65 for a Wolfsburg with all options.
I was hoping for closer to the $58-59k mark, is this possible or am I dreaming?
I was also offered an MY15 DSG with all options for $59k but I wouldn't pay near this amount for effectively last years model (MY16's will be on forecourts within the next 4 weeks).
so here is a review between the audi S3 and the BMW M235i however they mention a lot the golf R in the review and at the end (spoiler alert) they kind of prefer the golf R

Based on the pricing that I've seen, a Wolfsburg with all options (Sunroof being the only option on Wolfsburg), you should be able to get it for around $61k. Whether or not the dealer wants to offer that price to you is another matter altogether unfortunately.
I cant comment on the MY16 (non-wolfsburg), but I'm guessing that the stock for them is limited over the next few months, given the boats are taken up with a few hundred Wolfsburg models which they don't necessarily want to discount!
Ahh ok, what about the self parking thing? I know the lower models get this and I see it's part of dap2. I may be wrong
Forgot about that, so the R hasn't and isn't going to get Parking Pilot (or whatever they call the self-parking). Again, this is for Australia, not sure if overseas get it or not.
The lower models have had it for a while, but for some reason the R doesn't get it. To be honest though, once I've tried it once I'd never use it again. I don't know anyone that actually uses that feature on a regular basis. Maybe if I had a Tesla I would use it

They must be avoiding the inevitable 4,000rpm launch control reversing test into a parallel parking spot. 206kw is too much to handle for Parking Pilot obviously

Not dreaming at all. I have a MY16 DSG R (non-Wolfsburg) with sunroof, driver assist, and 5 year factory warranty ($1500 option) on order for $60.5k on road. Due to be delivered end of October. Another dealer was willing to go to $61k.
Lowest I could get a Wolfsburg edition to was about $63.5k.
Rubbish. Of course you can change. It's not like you aren't going to by a car from them. Did you speak to the manager?
I have, problem was he was the ****head that wanted to slug me 69k. They offered me 64k then 63,500 and said I had until the weekend to decide. I said I was busy on the weekend but decided on the GTI any way.
Problem is they will try to screw me over in any case if I change. I asked today if it was too late to change to the R, they said yes. The GTI will be here in mid to late October!
