Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Only difference for the R is availability of manual.

      Hey Adrian,

      Thanks for that mate, I managed to find the following after some searching also;

      The changes are:

      Hatchback only:
      • The Golf R with manual transmission (5G1RVU/15) is now available to order
      • The Golf 110TDI Highline model code 5G146Y/15 replaces 5G141Y/14
      • Deactivation of SAFELOCK deadlocking function on deactivation of interior monitoring

      Hatchback and Wagon:
      • The optional Bi-Xenon headlights have been discontinued for Highline & GTI models (standard on GTI Performance and R)
      • The optional anti-theft alarm system has been discontinued for Comfortline and Highline models (standard on GTI, GTI Performance and R)
      • The exterior colour Night Blue Metallic Z2Z2 has been discontinued (excludes GTI & GTI Performance)
      • The optional interior Vienna leather appointed upholstery colour Shetland XW has been discontinued (affects Highline only)
      • New menu button for dual zone climate control air conditioning system ("MENU" text replaces existing "SETUP")
      • The driver's side under seat storage drawer has been discontinued on Comfortline models (passenger side drawer remains)
      • “40 Years Golf” decal to be fitted on rear window
      • Repositioning of tyre inflation pressure label from fuel flap to B-pillar
      • New design for BlueMotion Technology badge

      Cabriolet (Mk6) only:
      • The exterior colour Dark Purple Metallic 0KPA has been discontinued
      • A coat hook has been added in the soft top
I highlighted what I think would be affected on the Golf R, would you say there would be any reason to actually wait for a MY15?

Yeah those couple little changes, not even worth a mention.

No real need to wait for MY15 unless you want manual

                Hmm, who could confirm this?

I asked my dealer whether he could confirm this, and he advised there would be no revision in power from 206kW. I'm a little surprised that the previous alignment with the Audi S3 apppears to have ended with the MY2015 release. Most forum members couldn't care less about this, particularly those who will purchase a Stage 1 ECU upgrade, which will provide a sizable lift in performance, regardless of the starting base.

                  • Hi Guys...

This weekend is the big one…finally bit the bullet and upgrade the 10+ year old audi with the one and only….
A lot of people don't like the colour but it looks completely diff in person, the dark shade really works with the wheels and tail lights, cannot wait till saturday morning and the long drive from Brisbane to Townsville, flights booked last night, lets do this.
