+1 [emoji4] Andrew, do you know what the future has in store for your departed R? There would be lots of useable parts, such as the wheels, which would be useful to some.
Hey Mikey1, understand the insurance co will own it and it will go to auction. All the interior was good, nav, leather seats etc (apart from airbag deployment ) and 3 of the wheels so it would worth something.
Looking forward to the R second time around particularly a nice clean white. (Particularly given I'm currently driving a crappy Nissan dualis with a buzzbox cvt!)
CVT's are absolute rubbish. Just awful things to drive. Sounds and feels like a horrible slipping clutch. Can't believe Audi persisted with them. So not premium! Haven't driven a new WRX but I cannot believe Subaru have put one in a sportscar.

Funniest part about that is 50% of new WRX sales are CVTs! WHY???!!!!
I wouldn't buy one, but then again I wouldn't buy a WRX either - but it's supposedly a reasonable unit (all things considered) and proves that they've been dropping sales by not having an 'auto' option. IIRC Motor did a quick review an issue or two back and had it as their pick over the manual.

Dad had a WRX then an STi. Both on my recommendation. Both brilliant cars. Unfortunately Europe caught up with Mitsubishi and Subaru. Not sure if we'll see another Evo and the "new" Rex is generations behind anything from Europe now AND for a similar price. Who would buy an STi over the near perfect Golf R now!?

Andrew, I believe this is your car? (Anyone who's sensitive to graphic images of damaged Rs: viewer discretion is advised!)
Yep Adam, well spotted that's it! Not a bad buy with only 2,000km on the clock Ah well, I'm grateful to have walked away in one piece and now looking forward to my Pure White R
