Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • I suspect it's the 4Motion causing the lethargy at low speeds. The Scirocco with the same engine feels incredibly responsive.

The Tiguan with the GTI engine is also a fair bit less responsive with the 4Motion.

    • Guys, thanks for responses. Will
Get vwr intake installed once available and stage 1 apr tune when they're released. Will see how that goes.

Extra traction, and in particular the extra weight of the system both contribute to that feeling, absolutely. But there is still inherently more lag in the K04 than the tiny K03.

Yep, saw the results on sat night, a dsg stage 2 mk6 R ran a 13.2 and a stock dsg mk7 R ran a 13.1. Very potent car with huge potential to build into a little monster!

No argument from me on that observation. White is a timeless colour, so easy to maintain and hides swirl marks the best, but I know it isn't popular amongst you trendies.

                    • I'm with you - plus you don't get microwaved by heat absorption like you do with darker colours (although that might only be a problem for us Northerners) :p

Haha, not good "it has hazard lights to let other motorists know when your vehicle has a problem" ummm..
Not to mention all the r-line references everywhere (is just a body kit if r-line which this one ain't), the photo of the rear R badge with dirt all around it, not a well presented sales pitch!

                            • guys went yesterday to APR and they show me a graphic of the R they are testing it looks impressive I can't remember all the numbers but I do remember that it said that the golf R stock has 204kw wheels power and after the tuning the nm was around the 500s impressive numbers I can't wait for them to show the oficial numbers but it will impress for sure.

Not sure I understand your statement. Is it 204kw at the wheels for stage 1 APR tune? You've said stock but then quoted a tuned torque value??
