Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled
After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.
Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before.
We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

DoggieHowser, when I first purchased a white car I had the the general impression that it is easy to clean and looks cleaner when it is dirty. Take it from me as it is the other way round. To me it looks dirtier when you get water sprays on the car and when you wash your car you can see every single spec of tar/dirt on the car which you won't on darker colour cars. Grey is best colour for hiding dirt.

Here are some Pics.
For all of you thinking about the cloth interior. Definitely worth considering. The grey inserts at the sides of the seats are a leather / suede material that keeps you in the seat. Very comfortable. The leather is not worth $3150.

Just got my opticoat-pro done by Frank from Definitive Car Detailing @ Lane Cove - great set up and good to see that he was providing free workshops to a few car enthusiasts in the morning. He's also quite a photographer and took some awesome shots of the car post-coating, here's a teaser (I'll post the rest on the picture thread).
Also had tinting done by Rob from Hunters Hill Window Tinting @ North Ryde - awesome guy to chat with and he's done heaps of Mk7 Golfs but this is apparently his first R, and did a fantastic job on the triangle.
Note that the pictures are post-coat but pre-tinting. I'll get some shots of the tint when the sun comes out tomorrow.
