Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Tinting wise, I'm still unsure who to go with, what film/products to go for. There seems to be a lot more varieties out there with different tint shops promoting diff products.
I'm looking at getting opti-coat and also in Sydney, can I ask where you have seen it for that price and did you have to ask for discount?

This is from Car Detailing Studio Sydney North Shore | Make Your Car Beautiful – 1300 739 489 based in Lane Cove. Heard really good things about them and I did not have to ask for a discount. Frank (whom I believe is the owner) seems to be very helpful, answering my emails on Saturday/Sunday nights and offered to let me use his space to get my window tinting done if I am using a mobile tinter.

Already have my mind set to go with them.

Apologies for bringing up an old topic, but couldn't resist - when you badgeless on a Merc the radar is clearly visible.

That's an amazingly fast turnaround through the port/customs/compliance plate attachment, etc process, which usually takes up to 2 weeks before the dealership receives delivery. How were you able to get yours through the system so fast? BTW, she looks wonderful in Lapiz Blue!
