Sat in a golf R with a sun roof (I'm 6 4) I don't really like sun roofs. There is a mesh screen that still lets in light/heat when closed. The mesh is manual but the glass panel is electric. I also don't like how the glass panel slides on the top not inside the roof. my old liberty a sunroof retracted inside the roof itself and was great.

What is everyone doing (or have done) about window tinting? Anyone have 35% and think it is adequate, or prefer darker (perhaps up to 20)?

I have octane on my lapiz which is 18%(legal in the NT but knowhere else i believe) looks really good to

No mate rubbish offer. I walked off the street to a dealer here in QLD and the price was $58k with leather. I'm looking to get one for $55k with leather n sunroof

The head room in the golf range is not a problem for me. (I own a Highline mk7) because you can adjust the seat height. The R with a sunroof was also not issue in regards to head room. However sunroofs are a waste of money and not a good idea if you live in the in North Queensland like I do... But that's just my opinion. Just think, you could get a tune for 2k. Instead of a hole in the roof

To anyone who has taken delivery of their new 7R with sunroof, what does it look like from the inside? I'm 6ft 5, and I had plenty of head room in the R demo without sunroof, is there much difference with sunroof? Staff assured me the headroom is the same. And is there a sunshade? Is it solid or a mesh material ?? and is the sunshade electric or manual?

I'm 6'6.5" and have no hassles at all w the sunroof.

Yeh - I think I could have pushed 54k for no options with corp. MIght drop in again and see. I'm seeing another dealership tomorrow so I'll see what happens then...

I'm 6'7" and have no problems with the sunroof, even have clearance in the back seat and the roof line is lower there !!!

Is the robina dealership doing decent deals on the R? I found all QLD dealers **** last time round and I ended up buying a R from Melbourne- fully optioned R for $55k .. All QLD dealers were low $60s..

Call them and ask for Michael Goldsworthy. You will be very pleasantly surprised.

You'll struggle with that as the dealer makes a loss at that price and will therefore choose to sell to someone else at a higher price.

I have seen their costings sheet for the new R (dealer gross margin, holdback etc), there is no way they would sell a dsg / leather / sunroof (normal driveaway without haggling of $65k+) down to $55k, unless the buyer is happy to wait for 3 years! (near new used, ex demo, etc).
