Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled
After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.
Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before.
We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Correction - Corporate Program Pricing is Available for the New Golf R
I previously reported in several posts that the new Golf R would not be part of the corporate program, but today two dealerships confirmed it was. The main benefit is reduced dealer delivery fee from the recommended $2,495 to $1,495, but there is also an additional discount of around $435 off the list price. There is no included free servicing.
One dealer confirmed they had originally been advised the program benefits would not be offered, but apparently this changed before launch. To qualify, your employer must be a registered corporate client of Volkswagen Group Australia, you are a full-time employee, the vehicle forms part of your salary/remuneration package and is used primarily for business purposes.

Re: photos above
The silver mirrors is a big tick, I always found the black to look a bit cheap (as in a throwback to the days when the cheap models didn't have color coded plastic bits).. but while I think a mk6 R with black Tallies looked sweet I'm not feeling much love to the mk7 R in white.. that blue on the other hand is a winner, as is limestone grey with some after market black alloys.

Must admit I quite like it but the white is not doing it for me either. I'm not sure if its the same grey, but I saw a brand spanking new S3 in the grey with 19's and it looked great. I haven't seen the new standard A3 to compare, but the S3 had quite pumped guards which looked awesome. I really wish they would do that with the R to differentiate it from the bog standard golf.
I also like the illuminated blue on the sills and door panel (unless its just flash reflection). Looks neat.MY10 Skoda Octavia RS Wagon TSI Candy White DSG Leather Sunroof MDI Bluetooth Tow Tint

Any idea what they'll sell for? Will be the first thing to go on mine.
Agreed though - the Talledagas, particularly in black were popular but I don't see the Cadiz trading anywhere near as well.
The Pretorias are a much nicer wheel - I'd fit a set. But so far the only ones I've seen online are 2,799 on sale. Euros.

Does anyone know why the golf R has a claimed economy of 7.1 while the S3 has 6.9? Does this mean the golf R will be subject to LCT??

No idea why the difference - but LCT is now applied on vehicles over $60k
Luxury car tax rate and thresholds | Australian Taxation Office
Hence my great price of $60300. No LCT FTW!

Aerodynamics probably play a part for the fuel consumption. Youd think it wouldnt make a difference but for .1 of a difference it would!

If you bought the car for $60,400 for example you would only be paying LCT on $84, not the whole amount. If the car is slightly over the LCT threshold then the LCT isn't going to be relatively large compared to say ticking a few options, or bargaining a better discount. Plus then you can tell your mates that you officially own a Luxury car
