  • Driving History/Logging via OBDII

    Heya Folk,

I'm 95% sure a parking attendant took my Golf for a joy ride, as the ODO has been reset, and the driving mode had been changed.

Is there any way of pulling up historical info via OBDII? Even basic stuff like times of engine starts and stops, or odo resets, etc. I doubt there's a full GPS and speed log : )

    Thanks.

Put a dashcam in it and you will see. Caught Foreman taking mine to do messages on one service as shown in the dashcam footage.

They werent really happy that I caught him when I growled. Said they have to road test them I said not to go and do messages in though.
Was only an oil change service and around the block is Ok but two suburbs away is a bit rich

Other way is write down the ODO reading when you take it in If its more than a K or so more ask why

      Not on it's own.

You would need to have a logging device plugged into the OBD2 port to log that sort of stuff.
OBD will only show you logged faults etc. You would have to rely on odo as Hillbilly points out.
