Is the a difference in the ride height between a MK6 Gti and a MK6 R? I am looking at getting the stock suspension from either of these from a wreck or from somebody who has replaced theirs with coil overs. Otherwise I will have to settle for king springs as I dont want the ride height too low. The main question I want answered is the difference in stock ride height between the two cars cheers.

Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled
After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.
Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before.
We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Difference in ride height between MK6 Golf GTI and MK6 Golf R?

From memory the GTI 's are about 15mm lower than the normal Golf the the R drops this a further 5mm to 20mm lower than your standard Golf (neglecting the fancy push button (DCC) dampening controls in some models). From memory the spring rate in the R is also a little stiffer (20%?). (or am I thinking Mk7?) In any case the drop off stock is less than an inch and even then if you have the "Sports Pack" you should already have that...
What are you planning on installing these into?Last edited by The_Hawk; 06-10-2015, 12:23 PM.
