  • 60,000km Servicing Costs

How much should I be paying? I'm about to grab some quotes in the coming week.

    60,000 km is 4 years.

    15,000km per year, 15 = 1 year, 30 = 2 year, 45 = 4 3 year, 60 = 4 year.

Depends where you go, and if its DSG blah blah.

However I see from your little advert signature you have a GTI and it's a DSG. So service book says oil and filter, fuel filter, DSG filter, DSG oil, spark plugs, pollen filter, brake fluid (arguable).

So if you go to a dealer your looking around $1270, give or take afew hundred.

Specialist (make sure they do it all right their not a specialist for nothing) maybe $600-1000

Autotune, autoking, ultra tune, automobile, wing won dodgy mechanics co, probably $100 with crap oil, and all they will do is oil and filter (not good for your car, at all.

Just ensure DSG is done, it gets overlooked alot.

        60,000km servicing costs 118TSI

Its nearly time for the major 60,000km service and was wondering if people could post what they have been charged so far for it?

Dribs - you should use Umai Naa!! providing he isn't too far away. He certainly knows his way around the VW's and offers log book servicing. Wish there was someone local to me that was as passionate and knowledgeable as him.

I had my 60,000km service done at Ramspeed @ Toongabbie very reasonable it was only about $500 with out DSG as I had only had the GB replaced at 40,000km

I was quoted $850 from VW Dealer for a 118TSI Manual

Ended up going to a guy down the road who charged $650,
i think it was like $130 for labour, the rest was parts, such as oil, sparkplugs, filters, fluids etc

The previous owners of my manual '10 GTI paid $839.30 to Lennock Motors in Canberra for the dealer 60K service in July this year. Costs on top of a normal oil and filter type change were new spark plugs ($106.20), fuel filter ($56.45) and front wiper blades ($84.80 for the pair).

Well now someone has merged a 118TSI thread with a GTI - they're going to have very different servicing costs @ 60,000kms depending on the transmission type.

There is nothing GTI- or 118-specific about this thread. And the servicing costs between the models should be generally comparable (excluding the DQ250 wet-clutch DSG-specific service, which is usually in excess of $600). I'm sure that readers will be able to understand and appreciate this disparity.

60k service just recently was about $900ish at my preferred VW dealer. I was quoted about $1200 but ended up around $900 on account of me receiving fleet pricing (which I believe is basically "trade" pricing)

This included the DSG service. The DSG oil is like $100 per litre and it takes about 5 or 6 litres from memory.

                            Hope that helps.

Just did my 60 000 with my trusty Euro mechanic (car is out of warranty). I provided recommended oil and genuine oil filter. He inspected spark plugs and other bits and pieces that needed to be done and said there is absolutely no reason to do them at 60 000km so will be done at 75 000. Pay for what the car actually needs done, rather than what VW WANTS you to do at their dealerships.
