  • 30,000KM Servicing Costs.

    Hey guys,

We had a thread for 15,000KM Service Costs. I figured we should now start one for 30,000km service costs.

For those living in Melbourne South Eastern Suburbs and own a GTI. Here are the costs I have found:

    Barloworld Glen Waverley: $695
    Burwin Knox City: $550
    Bayford Camberwell: $580

I have read alot of positive things about Burwin dealerships, and coupled to the fact they have the cheapest servicing, I think ill be going to them. Feel free to add any information here.

Same as the dealers as per what's written in your manual/servicing guide. They also washed the car for me too

They have older Golf's available for you to borrow if you book far enough ahead, although I was happy for them to drive me to the nearest train station and arrange a pick-up at the end of the day.

Does this include pollen filter and/or brake fluid?

If that's what it says in the manual. If you're concerned just give them a ring for yourself. I just had my 45k service done so I'm not fresh on the details

What is the difference between the 15k and 30k service?

The 15,000km service is a very basic oil change / oil filter change.

Every 2 years or 30,000km its a more in depth service with brake fluid / radiator fluid etc changed.

Again, check your manual for a detailed answer.

My MK6 GTI was done at 15k, the sticker on the windscreen from the dealer states next service at 35k.. Is this OK? Not sure what the manual says, its not in front of me.

^ looks like they made a mistake on your sticker. Service intervals are 15,000km or 12 months (whichever comes first). So if your car was serviced at 15,000km then your next one is due at 30,000km.

Probably a mixture of 30,000 and 45,000 in the guys head when he wrote it down

Brake fluid is time-dependant (2 years), pollen filter is recomended every 30,000klms.

Well, no. Because as has been stated by numerous current and former VW/Skoda/Audi dealership technicians on this forum, the service book is not specific to the Australian market. The correct service schedule is provided to you by the dealership in check-sheet form, attached to your invoice

The only reason I quizzed you on this in the first place, regarding Volkspower, was to ascertain if they indeed carried out a 30,000klm service for the minimal money you paid
