    Hey SF
They topped it up with 1.8l so it was hell low. I'm slightly paranoid about it and check it every second day, especially if I have been driving it in sports. So far it hasn't used anything notable, just over 300kms since it happened. I'm booked in to get her serviced next Friday so the oil consumption test they want to do can't really start until after that. Once that's done I will take it in every 1000kms for them to check the levels.
I did buy oil to keep in the car just in case. They dealership were like 'oh but don't top it up as we ned to know the consumption'.... Like I said to them if I have too then they can look at the indicator levels on the bottle and see how much I put in :/

Def not babying the car as if it's like others I have read about I want it all sorted (new engine?) before the warranty runs out in just over a years time.

Thanks I hope so too... Figure while it's under warranty all good... Decision will be mid next year to upgrade or extend the warranty... And that will come down to the $$ available. A GTI would be nice though!

Mine is due in 1,000kms so I'm hoping to get a similarly good deal in Perth.

Took mine to Volkspower Burwood - $350 including loan car.
No nonsense servicing, drop car off, pick car up and the staff are friendly.
Only problem is they found a slight oil leak from the DSG so now I have to take it to VW to get it fixed under warranty. Luckily VW were pretty good and slotted me in tomorrow to get it fixed.

                  Oh was 30,000km as well.

Depending on where in Perth you are... Euro Elite (Golfwagon) in Wangara has quoted me around $385.. will update with actual cost after I get it done tomorrow.

Update: guys at euro elite were great (other than telling me I should have bought a GTI haha) 30k service -not including the pollen filter as it had been done before - $387. An extra $60 for all the wipers to be replaced. All done in 3 hours and had a good chat about tunes as well, which was not recommended

Ended up going with Austral, only because the CityGlider bus goes pretty much straight past there to take me to work and back. Phone quote was $530 as per above, when I dropped it in that morning they said the estimate is $495, when I collected it, the actual cost was only $375. Always feels good to come away paying less than you expected rather than (usually) paying more.

Everything was all good, drives much better now with an oil change, brake fluid change and general lube & tighten. Air con smell is gone with new pollen filter.

My only issue of concern when I dropped it off was that there was a knocking/clicking sound coming from the steering rack, which I thought may have been dry uni joints or steering components. They investigated and found a damaged part in the steering rack, part was not in stock so they have ordered it and I have to take it back in when the part arrives. They didn't say what part it was, but nevertheless glad they found the problem and are proactive in fixing it.

So far I have found both Austral and Norris VW good to deal with. My previous two Nissans had their share of niggling problems but rather than proactively fix them with a "problem solving" attitude, Nissan would just try and tell me that the noises/behavior is "normal operation" ad fob me off (which in one case resulted in a noisy diff being dismissed as "normal" actually completely seizing up because the wrong oil had been put in from factory). So it is good to deal with a manufacturer service who actually takes you seriously and cares about the cars/customers.

Probably the wrong thread - but tobes, I saw your mk6 adidas at austral yesterday. They fixed a (garry crick, sunshine coast) screw up from a 15,000 service I had done earlier in the week.

Nice bunch of guys and did a pretty good job too.

$454 @ Elite Euro included pollen filter and all wiper blades.

Very quick and efficient as usual, I waited there whilst it was done and did some work! Thanks Joe and Philip.

When I first read that I thought you meant Burswood which is in Perth. However, having Googled I now realise it's not even in WA.
