Having seen one of these at the Altona Beach meet, and a MK4 golf with 25 Anniversary wheels in tow, it really is a suitable nod to the past and having discounted it before I saw one in person I can safely say I'm now a fan
agree. ED35 won't be collectable in a way a Ferrari 275 GTB 4 Cam is......
If anything, depreciation is more and in 3-4 years be worth little more than a normal GTI of the same age and yet pay lots more $$$$ now (as no corporate discount)
Current ride: 2014 Range Rover Evoque 5 Door TD4 Pure | 9 Spd Auto | Fuji White | Black Leather | 19 inch 'Dynamic' Wheels
Previous rides: MY11.5 Golf GTI 5 door | DSG | Candy White | 18' Detriots | Bluetooth | K&N Air Filter | Dancing Dials (Oh Yeah!)
| 1989 Porsche 944S2 Coupe| Guards Red| Leather| Sunroof| LSD
I'm not seeing the attraction in them at that price.
50k for my R, with a few options.
Agreed. It will be like the MK5 GTi Pirelli edition vs the normal GTi. They are only a few $k more 2nd hand (in fact there was a neat Pirelli in Newcastle about a year ago for $28,990 with 40k on the clock) but there was a considerable difference in price when new.

I looked over the fence at Lennock in Canberra yesterday, saw a Candy White 5 door ED 35 sitting there for anyone looking for one. I bought my R from there, they are pretty good blokes, Cal Bruton is the man.
Took me a few seconds to figure out what the 35 was from side on. The rims caught my attention first, is it just me or do the rims look like a Ford design?
Current ride - Golf R 7.5 DAP, Sunroof, Dynaudio, DSG
