Drove my friend's 35 around Albert Park last night. Oh man... what a car.. feels so solid around the corner.. Love the rumble of the engine.. Raspy and deep. (Note: I'm currently driving a corolla, so yes, it's a big big step up - but I did try an MY11 golf a few weeks back and the difference is night and day!)
Great car.. Can't wait to get my Jetta even more now!
As a tech nerd, I love the Cayman (aka Coxster) but hate the looks (Boxster looks better). They are about $180k here, I'd rather have an Audi RS5 which makes a rumble from its big V8 to die for... Or a 2008 911 Carrera S. Or a 2002 Ferrari 360 Spider. Coxster is still a Coxster.......
I have a feeling that Aussie mags must be bribed by Renault Australia as every comparision (read latest Top Gear) has the Megane RS250 beating the GTI or ED35. In the UK, they don't even rate..... I guess Renault need to bribe as they hardly sell any Meganes but a truck load of GTIs.....

Second hand Edition 35 for sale? I don't think so.
Unless they removed the wheels and slapped detroits on (I doubt it) I think this seller is confused about the car they've won, and the price they should be getting (49k for a second-hand stock gti and next to no options)
There's a white 35 manual for sale on showroom floor at DVG Melville in Perth. Saw it this week. No budging on price as they will 'sell it anyway'. Nice. Wheels fussy.
austral has a red manual still unsold after 7 weeks. shows that the market does not want a manual car at all
I think you might a little premature in announcing the total rejection of manuals after all the Australian preference for automatics (in whatever form or configuration) has been around for a long time.
