I understand that is the case but be aware the resolution is different as the sat nav screen is far Superior

haha yes had to stretch my buget by alot but as it is a demo with around 8000kms already on it so it brings the price down abit. but can't put a price on waiting another 6 months haha

as a side note I've been wondering if the delay time is due to the introduction of the Golf R in the U.S leaving less allocation for AUS assuming its the same factory even though its left hand drive.

I have been on the US forums for a while, it is a year before they take delivery so I don't think it is having that big an impact. Also the VW / Golf is perceived very differently there because Audi is the brand that gets all the attention. The pricing hasn't been released over there yet but they think it is going to be in the 34-37 k region, which in the US is steep because you can get an Audi S4 for that money. The enthusiasts are all lining up and putting there money down site unseen now and going to wait the year out. Most are ex R32 owners.

The dealers who are online are a little surprised at the response because the R32 was not popular, I tried to tell them it is going to a different situation but no one believes it.. cultural view of the Golf plays into it too much, Americans just havn't grabbed the hot hatch idea yet

            Typo? Should be 800 km?

Not sure that's accurate, at least in some places... in San Francisco, Silicon Valley area, they couldn't get enough R32s!

Yeah heaps of R32s over my way.. and everyone who owns one love them!

Personally, the MKV GTI and R32s are what got this VW thing off the ground for me.

Loved both those cars heaps.. sound of both of them was awesome.. so I would be suprised to hear that the R32 wasnt popular.

As I said this was in the USA as they perceive the Golf differently

Yeah the MKV GTI and R32 reinstated my love for hatchbacks and I've never looked back!

Can someone point me to a site where I can see the Golf R standard wheels against the 19" ones, I don't think I have seen one picture of what you get as standard as all you lot are upgrading.....Even the brochure has the upgrades!

                        Appreciated...

                            What about our http://www.vwwatercooled.org.au/f112...-52637-17.html?
Any Golf R with Chrome headlight surrounds has the standard 18's, any Golf R with black headlight surrounds has the 19's (either silver or black). There are several cars there with the std 18s...

My car has 18's on it, if yo ulook through the thread that Corey linked to, they're in there.
Visually I don't think there's a big difference between 18's and 19's, except the headlights of course.
I got 18's as I intend to go aftermarket in the future anyway
