Yep - the base is rubber. Better quality all round than the stock mats.

Yes they fit nicely. They use genuine VW mouning plugs on the mats so they clip in and out perfectly. The 2x front mats are actually a few inches longer than the original mats (they go higher up into the firewall area) which was an added bonus. I'll take some more pics showing them in the car.Originally posted by brimway View PostThey look the goods, thanks for pics Lucas. Are they a good fit with the locate plugs?
True - i expected the stock mats to be of better quality. But like you said, they are cheap flimsy things arent theyOriginally posted by SilvrFoxX View Postheh, hardly a fair comparison, the stock ones are bits of fuzzy cardboard

I'm considering a set group-buy or not. They definitely look the biz. Would be very interested to see how well they go in a GTI style.Originally posted by mak51m View PostWould anyone be interested in a group buy for GTI floor mats with custom logo?
Only suggestion I'd make is the logo - GTI or R - could be a bit smaller, and more subtle.2008 MkV Volkswagen Golf R32 DSG

Really happy with them.Originally posted by mak51m View PostThey look amazing!
I agree - in hindsight the logo could be a touch smaller, but the size of the logo is something i forgot to discuss with them.Originally posted by AdamD View PostI'm considering a set group-buy or not. They definitely look the biz. Would be very interested to see how well they go in a GTI style.

Yes the can do the outside borders in a range of colours to match the car (red / blue / green etc). Black is definetly available as it would be what they would use for most standard mats.Originally posted by Ryan_R View Post...and can the outside/borders be black instead of white?
PS - the borders on mine are actually a silver/grey colour, but they look white in the photos. I asked for that colour to try and match the united grey paint on my car.
PPS - i now have a set of stock Golf R mats if anyone wants a cheap set. Only done 9,000km and are in excellent cond.

These forums are dangerous... I have purchased more things for my car
Firstly, the same mats as Lucas, but with blue edging (we shall see what they look like when I get them, thanks for the tips Lucas on the other forums... btw, my seat inserts are a silver colour so would have matched, the stock mats have a silver edging also actually).... and now:

Saturday project to finally fit my CAI
p.s. another option for the heel pads on the mats from the place Lucas got them from:

Well, I'm close to pushing the button on this, but if someone is in the process of investigating a group buy I'll hold off a few days. Otherwise, they seem like decent value as-is, as long as they're sturdy good quality mats.Originally posted by Tux View PostI would but Id need red stitching.2008 MkV Volkswagen Golf R32 DSG
