I guess if you only shave off a little at the surface then it's probably okay, although whoever buys your car in a few years time will probably be wondering wtf happened when the leather falls apart in their hands some day
Seriously though, thanks for the heads up on this, mine should arrive early this week and I'll be putting them in next weekend, so good to know about stuff like this.

Will they bend? Not a fan of the shaving the leather idea if I don't have too. Would cutting off (not much better than leather shaving, if at all) the curve work at all?Originally posted by simonm View PostI may try and gently bend that piece so it's not as curved, hopefully that will reduce the risk of contact with the wheel.United Grey R: All the accessories (leather, not Recaro's though), S2P paddles, Kuftech DVD in motion. Carbon grill, mirrors and diffuser awaiting to be fitted.

I think they will - it's just aluminium. I'm going to wrap them in something soft to protect them from and then just use a pair of pliers. Hopefully won't be too difficult, and I'd rather damage an after market mod that hasn't even been installed yet than the steering wheel of my brand new car. Hopefully there won't be any marks on the paddle and even if there were then they'd be out of sight.Originally posted by xrayshaggy View PostWill they bend? Thanks again to all those that have participated in the Group-Buy.
We are always extremely happy to get Feedback from those that have Purchased and Installed our Product on their cars, Thank you!
Some MK6 VW models are having interference issues with the Leather on the reverse side of the Steering Wheel and our Paddle Shifters.
It would appear that there are differences in tolerances with the VW Steering Wheel World-Wide. However, we did not experience any interference issues with the four US Spec MK6 GTI’s that were used for our R&D of the Product. Here in the states, only one customer has had an issue which was resolved by removing a very small part of the leather from the steering wheel.
To address this problem we are suggesting that you carefully trim the leather with a cutting knife to allow the S2T Paddle Shifter the full range of motion. We do not recommend any attempt to bend the aluminum Paddle Shifter.
The online instructions and the installation manual included with the S2T Performance Paddle Shifters have been updated to reflect these changes.
We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience that this incident may have caused. If you do not feel comfortable with modifying the Steering Wheel, you may send your Paddles back for a full refund.
As a reminder there are only a few days remaining for the Special Group-Buy Pricing so please place your orders soon. We appreciate your consideration.
We are here for you and welcome any questions, comments, or concerns to be directed to our staff at sales@s2tpp.com.
Thanks again,

Good to see the offer on the table, but I'd rather not do a refund given how good they look! Hopefully Nath's method will work, cos me and knives are a bad comboOriginally posted by S2TPerformance View PostWe sincerely apologize for any inconvenience that this incident may have caused. Thats awesome feedback from Michael and the S2TPP company and great to see they're showing great support for their products.
Will there be a release for the MKVI specific steering wheel that doesnt require any cutting? I am not good with this stuff and have OCD, so could not stand to cut into my new steering wheel. But I do want the shifters as they look just right.2010 MY11 GOLF R - 5DR | DSG | RISING BLUE | DYNAUDIO + ACC + BLUETOOTH + 19s + RNS510 |

Hey Everyone... I know some people missed out on the original GB for this both on this forum and on VWGolf.net.au, so I am arranging for another GB through Michael Bello at S2T Performance. Details below:
I sent Michael an email yesterday and got the following reply:
Hello Patrick,
Thank you for the kind words regarding our Product.
We would be delighted for you folks to arrange another Group-Buy. We need a minimum of 10 participants.
Shipping can be arranged two ways. We can ship to one address to save the group some cash on shipping or we can ship to the individual address. If we ship as a group we need to have one member pay for the entire transaction (they would need to pool the funds together for the orders...) and based on the number of Paddles ordered we can estimate shipping. Basically, shipping would be around $60 USD for 10-15 sets of Shifters.
If shipping is done individually, we charge $12.95 USD per order.
As of right now the Group-Buy pricing is; Silver $149.95 USD Black $169.95 USD plus shipping.
We could offer 30% off with a Group-Buy of 30 confirmed orders.
Please let us know what you think and how we can help to make this happen.
Kind regards,
Michael Bello
S2T Performance Products
So as of this morning it would be the following:
Silver $149.95 + $6 Shipping --> $171.37 AUD approx
Black $169.95 + $6 Shipping --> $193.35 AUD approx
Current exchange rate this morning is .91 USD.
Now of course say we do by some miracle get an order of 30 paddles well then the price is even cheaper.
I am happy to do the group buy myself as a pooled one but i would require some form of deposit from people and of course i would be happy to provide my full contact details since i am a relatively new member.
I have also posted this on VWGolf.net.au forum.
Let me know people!
Pat
