Received mine today, ordered on 6th August - 10 days for delivery to Melbourne.

Just installed tonight, following these instructions:
              http://www.s2tpp.com/vw-instructions.html
              http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YUO38Ilsf_I

              Some HOT tips:
              Don't need a Torx T40 on my 2008/9 GTI, only T20
Mechanics mirror is worth it for the airbag clips
Step 5 - here - is annoying... there are two tabs around the centre hinge (you can't see it in the pic) - the obvious one and another behind on the 'button' side. I used two screwdrivers at once here - be gentle with the tabs, I reckon they'd break really easily.

Well worth it guys, and it's easy to DIY - and the airbag didn't go off.

Anyone done this on the R36, would be interested to know about clearance with the stalks?

Apom, I received mine today too. I will get around to installing them in the coming days.

I thought about stalk clearance a little over the weekend when I was using them all a lot - wipers, indicating, and cruise control! I think they will be OK if the cruise control stalk is flicked to the "off" position... something I discovered on the weekend after over two years and many many uses of cruise control.

I think it was mentioned earlier in the thread on the Golfs. I noticed the other day in the R that the factory RHS shifter is already very close to the stalk. While it didn't bother me, seems like it was poorly placed given how much room they had to work with?

                      Help needed.

                      Hi all,

Firstly thanks for all the hard work re this group buy.

Need a little help before ordering paddles. Looking for someone in Melb especially the South East suburbs who may have already fitted these, to assist in fitting same. Bit of the old arthritis in hands these days prevent me from doing any delicate work. Would be very happy to provide reasonable compensation for help.

If there is any kind soul out there who may be able to help, please let me know.

                      Regards,

                      Wowser.

Thanks for posting that.... I hadn't seen this until now as you edited your post to add the info... so I thought I'd quote it in full so no one else misses it!

I did this to my R36 today. Some notes...

                          1) Put the key in the ignition and ensure the steering wheel is unlocked before disconnecting the battery.
                          2) The airbag fuse is on the left side of the car, not the right as stated in the manual.
                          3) I found the tabs holding the pin in place to be fairly easy to remove, when using a wide flat head screwdriver. My first attempt with a narrow head scrwedriver failed.
                          4) I didn't need T40, only T20.
                          5) Remember the battery is in the boot
                          6) Do it.

Well, I just received mine in my work mailbox today!
Wow, these are even nicer than I expected. Saying they are "OEM like quality" is an understatement, since VW don't have any metal components in their interiors which are as nice as these!

Great notes and pictures Steve. - hopefully some more Passat owners will see this and take up the offer before it expires at the end of this month

Seems delivery is fast but so far I haven't seen mine and I paid on the 11th (11 Aug 2010 Payment To S2T Performance Products Completed) only two weeks so not really worried not to mention wont have the car until Nov but still, hope mine haven't gotten lost in the post!
