MK6 GTI - Rattle upon acceleration - Resolved via TPI: 2021062/7
Called my service center before and he told me there is a fix. I need to take my car in on Friday so that they can confirm I have the rattle (I do) and then they will order the part (5days) and install it for me. No mention of any cost.
It will be 1yr since I took this fight to VW. Halleluja!
Nice work. Any chance you can ask him for a reference number that I can pass to my local VW dealer so they can tell me the same thing (that they will fix it?)
VW Australia are still telling me that there is no updates... but I'm not confident in the guy I'm dealing with there....
Awesome work.
I got mine from JH also, so will try my luck too.
Thanks guys- super interested to hear how you go. If one WA service centre is doing this, it's excellent argument fodder for me to take to Osborne Park VW.
I haven't heard that yet... who did that come from?
I just spoke to my contact in Canberra. Whilst he's been side tracked by other business tasks in the past week, he hasn't heard this update. They have received the clips that they ordered from Germany and so will be getting in cotact with the local two customers that were arranged. Hope to have more update soon.
I'm sure if your contact works at VW he should be able to access any info relating to this small issue....
Exactly
Hence why I asked who you'd heard it from. As it turns out, VGA are still saying that there isn't any update yet, which explains why he hadn't heard anything.

Hey Ferni, which dealership in Melbourne are you talking to?
FYI, my JH service rep contacted me to say he'd ordered the clip for my car and would let me know when it arrives so it can be fitted - under warranty. Almost 2 years later, and I finally get some action!

Not sure if I'm posting it in the correct section, but I've noticed strange banging sound.
When I accelerate rapidly, bringing revs up to 3500-4500, the car is making strange "bang-like" click when changing from 2 to 3 and from 3 to 4 gear. Is this normal or do I need to be concerned? (BTW, the car is warmed up - oil is at 80+ degrees).
Does it has something to do with water pump??
Thanks for your help
Hey Ferni, which dealership in Melbourne are you talking to?
I'm not speaking to a dealership - they are limited to what they can do by what VW Australia tell them. But I bought my car from Berwick VW and I've shown their service department the noise, they reconised it straight away but said there was nothing they could do as VW say it's normal. So I've been calling VW Customer Care - 1800 607 822.
Hey MurphyTheElf , once you get the clip fixed under warranty can you please provide a copy of the paperwork that you'll receive? I'm sure that will be a very strong case to my local dealer should I decide to get it fixed.
