    But this is obviously my point. I dint for one sec believe that I was able to nail a 5.57 on a relatively warm night, 2 people in the car, and according to you the road could have been better.

    The best you managed on the night was a 5.24 in a STG 1 with 2 people.

    Now, you are saying you got 4.82 with just you in the car on another night, better road etc. So then obviously something similar would hold true for me if I had one in the car, better road. You apparently shaved another 0.4 sec by not having me in the car. Me maybe being 5-10kg's heavier than you isn't enough to differentiate much. I should then shave around 0.4 off mine Orr there abouts. So I'd nail a 5.17.. Stock?

    Because my car is stock and I've already belted the stock claims, on a warm night with 2 people in the car. The above would be true?

    This is what I have been saying the whole time, and haven't been unsure of what I'm saying once.

      Yeah, the downpipe replaces the pipe from the turbo, and the pipe with the catalytic converter in it. The middle pipe (with the resonator) and the rear pipe with the rear muffler remain stock.
      give us a hale when completed, wasn't going to worry about intercooler, but am having second thoughts. Not concerned about continuity, but am aware heat plays a big part and feel even in Stage 1 a bigger intercooler may be necessary/ certainly should be considered.

        "Now" I'm not saying anything. I showed you the results on the night, so you know I'm not just making stuff up now...

        As for what you would get with a stock car on better roads, I don't know - I wouldn't bother theorizing, just like I don't bother theorizing anything else. Right now neither of us have any idea what part of the 0.4 seconds difference I achieved was to do with different locations and surface conditions, and what was to do with the additional 80 odd kg. We also don't know how much better the stock car could do in the same conditions, whether the gap would stay the same or widen etc.

            Boys, don't forget to bring the rulers out while you're at it on Wednesday night. They can be inaccurate by a couple millimetres so you'll all have to use the same one.

            But please, no photos.

              The only problem with that MurphyTheElf is that even though i might be lucky enough to measure 6 inches with the trusty engineering ruler.. everyone else will have an XYZ ruler, which then oddly states they have a 12 inch..

              Im just being realistic.. no 12 inch black tornado here..

                        Sorry, vie had the car nearly two weeks now, its the Gtech that is due wed/thurs.

                        Seat of the pants it is definately quicker with the Stage 1 tune - how that translates into kW and seconds who knows!
                        I noticed more urge in the mid-range which continued right through. Jumping back into a stock car was much like jumping into mine on a really hot day and taking a few passengers on board. (both cars with ~1000km), just felt more sluggish.

                        I'm more than happy with the improvement the $1400-odd gave me, I've spent a lot more to gain a lot less on other cars in the past! I would like to see just how much improvement I got though, hence the GTech.

                        I chose APR due to their reputation and local dealers. There might be ways to get another kW or two out of a specific engine, but I'm ok with a tune i know is safe and well researched/tested. After all, your factory tune is not 'individual' but is safe for all the slight manufacturing variances in the engines out there, I figure the APR tune is similar.

                        Had GIAC, Bluefin or any of the other tuners been as accessible and their information easy to come buy - i may have gone with one of them!

                          there is some chatter regarding the APR Stage 1 tune not living up to specs, which may or may not be proved in time tests. Like yourself the seat of pants feel and the improvement in mid range acceleration is pronounced. you must have bought the tune before xmas, great price. are you thinking Stage II? Maybe Corey's Fuel, Cat-back and intercooler?
