  • hmm.. I figured height would be the advantage over the lib.... probably have to fold one seat down to get everything in. generally there is just me in the car but 2 -3 times a year I run up the coast with the missus and my son. usually we can get away with 3 sports bags and the fishing gear.. will have to work it out when I get it

        • You should just leave the kids at home (easy for me not having any lol). But you'd be surprised how much crap fits in the 3 door! I've had a set of wheels back there (seats folded down) and we did a run to Costco with 3 people, forgetting the size of the **** you buy in that place and filled the boot and half the backset lol.

What amuses me is I had falcons on/off for the last 8 years and have carted more stuff around in the R in 5mths. The hatch and opening space/height makes what little there is so much more usable.

Agreed...mine has taken a trip to Costco with the 2 kids, and still managed to get a lot of ****e in the boot!

              • It's got a lot more space than my old S3, and that managed a number of trips to IKEA.

Shadow Blue has been available on various VW models in Australia over the last decade. It's not very popular though. I'm a fan of blue, yet I got my Golf GTI and Polo GTI in Red and Black instead of Shadow Blue, lol. It's a lot darker in real life than in that colour selector. Here's a IRL shot in full daylight:

I couldn't find one on the R at night, but here's a night shot (it gets almost black looking)

                    • I see what you mean the colour selector doesn't really get it right.. but then what does.. still happy with rising blue

Haven't read from this poibt onward, so maybe it's already been said, but if you get under a car with any jack as the sole means of support, you are asking for trouble. You really should use jacksatnds, throw a couple of wheels under the car, use some stacked timber under a sill (not bricks or bessa-blocks though).

I've had three jacks fail on me, two while underneath - no huge dramas as they were 4wds & the wheels were still on so I just slid out from underneath but it's still a bit disconcerting. If they'd been something low then it would have been either a squashed ribcage or a squashed head.
