How fast do you drive around (or out of) a roundabout anyway - I've been able to go round them in 3rd gear without problematic power/lag issues

Sprint Booster modifies the signal between the accelerator pedal module and the electronic throttle body. This modified signal forces the throttle body to open 'more' than the stock signal at a given pedal position. In effect, the idle-to-full-throttle pedal travel is reduced. This makes your car 'feel' more powerful because a given pedal input produces greater throttle opening. This is especially evident in the low to mid rpm range where most cars spend their time on the street.
Sprint Booster simply modifies the throttle signal between the accelerator pedal and the throttle body. Big deal right? Keep in mind, this is the same concept as the 'throttle pulley' modification on cable based throttle systems - which was very popular in it's time. It doesn't add horsepower, but makes the throttle more sensitive and makes the car 'feel' faster.
Is Sprint Booster for everyone? Of course not, no performance product ever is. If you have a track car where you spend most of your time near redline, Sprint Booster is not for you - Sprint Booster benefits are felt in the low to mid pedal travel. Some people don't like the fact that Sprint Booster reaches full throttle before full pedal travel - if you routinely mash the throttle to the floor, Sprint Booster may not be for you.

Hey guys
Given the previous problems the MKV had with PCV's and cam followers and what have you, I've decided to take precautionary measures to make sure the MK6 doesnt suffer the same fate
So I've decided to change to :
1) OEM Revision "D" Piston DV (if it doesnt have one already)
2) Buy the 2.0 TFSI cam follower and have it ready just in case it craps itself.
3) OEM Revision "F" PCV Revision with EuroJet PCV tubing
4) Oil Catch Can
Now, #4 is where I need assistance and advice. I'm planning on installed an Oil Catch can but I dont know which one is best. Well, maybe best is a poor choice of word but I just want to know which one most people use and recommend?Last edited by stephen8512; 03-01-2011, 12:49 AM.

When I mash the accelerator pedal on both my golfs(one is a GT with a 1.4 TSI engine - with a small supercharger for boosting the low revs) - there is still a 1/2 sec delay before anything happens. The delay has nothing to do with lag.Originally posted by Pepe View PostFrom their own website:

So I don't believe the small amount "lag" that BezzyR is experiencing post APR is due to lag but rather the throttle delay.

The device is a couple of resisters in parallel that helps eliminate the electronic delay, a side-effect with all drive-by-wire throttles. It's not meant to be magic, but a practical electronic fix... Sprintbooster will help (not eliminate) the dreaded R lag issue IMO, why? because it will send the throttle single to 2500rpm quicker than stock thus sending the turbo to spool earlier. The sooner the turbo spools the less lag...

I am not convinced, the documentation indicates it has absolutely no performance improvement abilities whatsoever. My conclusion is it merely changes the distance required to obtain throttle response, so rather than having to flatten the foot pedal to achieve the desired response from the engine it it just further up the throttle depression arc. Hence why it has no value on the track however may improve the feel of the car when driving about town because you dont have to be so dramatic when trying to get the car to respond.

I would suggest that for a few hundred dollars it is not as intelligent as a high end or even a mid tier Jap car with the i Drive, Si Drive which does the same thing but is far more sophisticated. Important.. No.. desireable.. maybe .. Individually we all hold different things as important to our driving experience, if this floats your boat then I guess it is important. Each to their own, it's far from snake oil, but rather an electronic circuit to help correct electronic e-throttle lag used most modern cars. I must have wasted 20 years working with snake oil.
I suppose air-con is snake-air that only appears to 'feel" cooler...

I drove a Golf R in Sg in March 2010, and it didn't have any lag (in drive) that I noticed and I was driving it as I would my Pirelli. I suspect now(having also after test driving a local R) that the one in Sg was tuned (VW Sg has a working relationship with APR - cars can be bought pretuned with APR). This initial test drive caused me to report (incorrectly in retrospect ) that the R's acceleration was linear with no noticeable lag.Last edited by triode12; 03-01-2011, 09:30 AM.
