Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled
After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.
Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before.
We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

The turbo spooling sound is certainly louder, as is the noise generated from the intake.
The exhaust however sounds very similar if not the same. Perhaps the fart on redline upshift is louder but I might be imagining it.
When I upgrade to StageII, I wont be going with the full RSC but simply the APR Downpipe for Stage II qualification.
I dont want a loud attention seeking exhaust - it's loud enough as is from stock.2019 BMW M3 CS

wouldn't mind the r with a slightly bigger noise, thinking stage 1 on thursday in Bris, realise it'll have no impact on sound...Black 3dr, DSG, ACC, 19" Black Talladega's, Heaps of Goodies - Double Tint - APR Stage 1 - Delivered and Lovin' my R

[QUOTE=HPSOV;
Basically I want a mode inbetween the two!! I want something that doesn't sound like I'm revving the engine the entire time, but will actually give me some power when I want it. I want 4th gear in a 50 zone and 5th gear in a 60 zone, unfortunately the only options the auto modes give you are 6th or 3rd in both.[/QUOTE]
I'm with you on all accounts.

D' mode, changes gears to early for some people. S' mode hold gears for too long.
So it seems most people want D's gearing ratio but with more torque.. Insert APR/Bluefin/other brands tune I reckon this the way to go. More boost in the midrange, should be good if you dont like D.2010 MY11 GOLF R - 5DR | DSG | RISING BLUE | DYNAUDIO + ACC + BLUETOOTH + 19s + RNS510 |

Now that I've got it done, I can tell where Stage 1 is fantastic and where it's no bloody use at all.. if I'd done it earlier, I suspect I would have ended up a bit frustrated.
