Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled
After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.
Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before.
We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

I had an Audi A3 (or was it an S3) who was trying to be a hero on Heatherton Rd. I decided to teach him a quick lesson at the next set of lights, which seemed to annoy him, as he decided he wasn't going to do 60kph anymore, so I let him go.

My GTI will make the regular pops/farts on power upshifts, and a little on a rev-matched downshift, but I don't recall having heard anything similar when I'm getting off the throttle. Does this only happen when you're backing right off suddenly at high revs?2008 MkV Volkswagen Golf R32 DSG

It's definately not a DSG fart, it's very subtle.
I thought it might be an exhaust harmonic, but it's almost always 1sec after lifting off the throttle, regardless of RPM.
Only other things i can think that might cause this are DV or exhaust flap?2010 Golf R - 3dr - Manual - Rising Blue - MDI - SatNav - Milltek TBE
