I got the tune a few days ago. Took a colleague for a drive and he was giggling like a school girl and to say that I'm impressed with the performance is an understatement.
How many km's did you guys have when you had the Stage 1 tune done???
I asked Guy what he recommended and he mentioned the 1,000km mark - He suggested I feel/get familiar with the stock power before unshackling the beast!
You could get it done immediately if you wanted. There's really no wrong or right answer here.
It's all about what you feel comfortable with.
I guess really there are two considerations that I can think of.
1) Since the Golf R ECU is not switchable, how much time do you want to spend learning the "stock" feel of the car before performing your first upgrade?
2) How much time you want to allow to ensure that there are no initial issues with the car before making changes?

Haha, Guy mentioned a lot of people literally driving directly to an APR reseller after pick-up! I guess you're one of those people that don't full around

Thanks for your input Corey, I guess I'll find out once I actually get in it and drive, then make a decision from there.......
The R will be my first turbo car, so you can imagine how excited I'm getting
Unless there is some gangbusters Group Buy which cant be missed, I will wait at least a year. Im going to keep this car for ages (5 years+) all going well ofcourse.
So after about 5-10K kms I will upgrade cause I will really know my car well. And give me something to do for when the MKVII comes out.
Or I might just do it on my birthday in July. We'll see how long the Stock R keeps me happy..

I can't believe she'll finally hit the Ozzy coast next week!!! Man, It's getting close now!!!
Is anyone aware of an electronic version of the owners manual???
I know it's a long shot (never heard of one) but wouldn't mind studying before she arrives....

I WISH there were an online/electronic version of the owners manual!
And REXman... if you waited THAT long, you'll totally regret that you waited THAT long!
I know I know.. We'll see. I'm the kind of person though that if I do that trial thing, and it is awesome I might jump on it anyway. Minimum time would have to be 3000kms. When are you going to do yours?
Oh man don't tell me about it. I'm raring to drive this thing. I'm having nightmares of losing my license the day before it gets here
