Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled
After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.
Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before.
We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Given the VAG brake pads dust so bad I have been trying different cleaning and products to get the best lasting result. I have got the clean down pat however I have been using Waxes, synthetics and QDs to see if I can reduce the build up of dust and make the cleaning process easier on the R Rims.
To date it has been a mixed bag of results, however when I was down at Supercheap last week I found Eagleone have a product aptly call "Keep Wheel Clean". A name with a big claim methinks, anyway I was going to pick up some more QD for the rims but this was cheaper and was claiming to do what I was looking for.
Anyway it is not a cleaner it is a synthetic protective coating which smells a bit carcinogenic, you apply it post cleaning and drying and leave it to dry. It gets a haze on it but after about 15 minutes dissapears.
Well after a week of driving the rims are much cleaner than they would be usually, especially the front. The dust appears to collect loosely in the recesses of the rims rather than spread an even coat. The product claims that it lasts up to 2 weeks and will be easier to clean after washes.
I am yet to see what happens after driving in wet conditions as it has been dry all week. But for $12 it seems to be living up to the claim. For those that are wrestling with the dust and don't want to change pads it may well be a cheap solution.

Same product that Armor All sell in Coles and Woolies.
I prefer a synthetic sealant I source from a detailer in Melbourne, mainly because it lasts longer and it isn't made by Eagleone, F1 and Armor All !8VSS2L/16 E9E9 XG MP SPP1 4ZD 6XK CSC5P with an extra free 10kW

^ just get Remsa brake pads guys......less than $250 for the complete set. You have probably spent more than that on wheel cleaners already....
Brake dust is reduced significantly - about 70-80% less.

I dislike them with a vengeance
Squeelers, fade, chattering, uneven surfacing on my first two sets.
Yes, they dust less but that is about it.

Now, if I had a RB R, I would definately buy squeeler brakes - only way you would notice it8VSS2L/16 E9E9 XG MP SPP1 4ZD 6XK CSC5P with an extra free 10kW

In the last 6 years have bought 6 new cars, only one has been white and that is a special white with varying shades of white.
Now, if I had a RB R, I would definately buy squeeler brakes - only way you would notice it
