Hehe - when I'm in these situations, I type out my reply, and then instead of clicking Submit - I click the Close tab button. Good way to get stuff off the chest without annoying others (obviously I've carelessly forgot to do that this time).

Hey autosalbei, I take it you believe RVC is best thing since slice bread. Good for you.
No need to get religious about it.
Ordered Nov-2010: MY11.5 MkVI 5Dr Golf GTI | CW | DSG | Bi-Xenon | MDI | Bluetooth | @Patrick | ETA end Mar-2011
No camera? And no comments about whether an RVC is worth $500 extra? Just an irrelevant comment about what you think of my post.
It seems it's okay to tell people their posts are "joke-worthy" and a departure from "reality" or "religious" but not okay to clearly set out an opinion that does not resort to personal jibes and snide remarks.
Yes, the RVC is the best thing since sliced bread and I wish I had one. You probably will too.

Come down. You're uptight about an RVC for gods sake.
Let me repeat. You are starting a pointless fight over a frigging reverse camera.
If it costs me $500 less down the track, so be it. I don't care. If I cared that much, I would have got a DSG, not manual. I am buying the car for me. I do 85% of my driving on country roads and expressways. An RVC is not something I really need that much. You obviously do. Good for you. Now just settle down.
Audi S3. Sold
Golf R. Sold
Citroen DS3 Dsport. Sold
2016 Skoda Octavia RS Wagon.
RVCs will never replace common sense. Personally I think all this relying on technology is actually making things more dangerous in some instances.
Fail. Im sorry to be so harsh, but this is the stupidest thing I have read about RVC.
RVC is a fantastic device that takes the guess work out reverse parking. It makes it a more pleasant experience instead of say judging how far behind you that low to the ground stump/pole is.
I dont see people complaining about power windows, even if the manual ones do give you a healthy workout. And you also have the risk of getting your hand caught in the Auto Power windows.. Anyway a bit off track so i'll just stick by the first 2 lines.
Some of the arguments on here are so nerdy in their composition!

Anyway, back on the turning circle thing... figured out (with help of a collegue) that the R's turning circle is basically the same or slightly worse than a Ford Territory Turbo (ouch).
yep, 19s... and got him to put it in my parking spot and see how well he could get his territory around the U-turn I mentioned a few pages back. He couldn't quite get around in one go, but it was comparable to my best efforts.

Took my R from Brisbane down to Byron this weekend, and once over the border into NSW I kept getting an intermittent beep in the car while driving.
Didn't appear to be linked to anything, and I had no warning lights on, or anything else to indicate that there was something wrong / up with the car. Start Friday after I crossed the border, would beep on and off every 5 to twenty minutes (seemed like longer gaps on the highway than on the backrounds). Drove Byron to Ballina Saturday it was still there and on the drive back.
Leaving Byron Sunday morning had it beep twice at me, but once I got onto the highway and back into Queensland didn't get it once.
Has anybody ever had anything like this before, put in a call to the dealer Saturday and he's going to look into it as well.
The only thing I can think it mgiht be is a speed warning linked to the sat-nav ? But even then the beep was never associated with any other warning / notification on the MFD or Nav Unit.
Any thoughts welcome, because I'm truely confused.

Bod
If you have SatNav, then it'll be related to that. It happens when you lose a bit of reception, but I think it's when it drops to 6 satellites or something. There's some way to check how many it's got a lock on, but I can't remember what it is. You'll probably find it happens when you go into deep underground carparks too.
