My GF is wanting to buy me a Carbonio from somewhere, but I noticed this is only a "recommended" on your upgrades list at APR.COM.AU.
1. Would a tune and down pipe be better and get better results?
2. Also the If I get the stage 1 tune, are the subsequent tune upgrades free?
3. So in other words, If I get the tune now, and I get a DP form elsewhere later, can I get the STG II?
4. Lastly If I get the APR Carbonio, APR tune and my usual exhaust DP, what is the tune you would recommend?
PS I cant see the prices of everything for some reason on your website?
PHEW!! ThanksForgive me if I've mis-read REXman's post. But I believe his queries are more along the lines of, if he doesn't get the APR Downpipe/Exhaust, but gets another brand/custom exhaust, which tune is appropriate and whether he can get the stage II apr tune/how much would it cost etc.Originally posted by simonm View PostHi REXman,
The required and recommended components for each stage are here (includes ECU price): APR - High Performance Development for Audi, VW and Porsche Vehicles.
Downpipe page with price: APR - High Performance Development for Audi, VW and Porsche Vehicles.
Fuel pump page with price: APR - High Performance Development for Audi, VW and Porsche Vehicles.
Full exhaust page with price (includes downpipe): APR - High Performance Development for Audi, VW and Porsche Vehicles.
If you purchase the APR equipment from APR, the upgrade from one tune to the next is free. I can't find anywhere which states what the case is if you get a thirdparty product though.

I'd say your correct as I recall him saying he'd spoken to a known place up your way to have one made up but I can't remember the name.Originally posted by Corey_R View PostBut I believe his queries are more along the lines of, if he doesn't get the APR Downpipe/Exhaust, but gets another brand/custom exhaust, which tune is appropriate and whether he can get the stage II apr tune/how much would it cost etc.

There was a similar question asked in the golfmk6 forums a while back.
APR Reflash - VW GTI MKVI Forum / VW Golf MKVI Forum / VW Golf R Forum / VW GTI Forum - Golfmk6.com
Whether APR Australia has the same policy would be interesting to find out.

You need to contact your local APR dealer with your exact needs.
In a nutshell, there is a charge if you don't purchase the hardware through your APR dealer as mentioned above. All of our APR dealers run good business's but don't give out lots of "free" stuff, if you have a good relationship with your local one, you might be surprised how well you get looked after

REXman:
Might make sense to get the Carbonio and DP installed by the APR dealership, and go directly to stage2 tune all in one go?
That way they're not providing you with free labour to upgrade from stage 1 to stage 2...2010 Golf R - 3dr - Manual - Rising Blue - MDI - SatNav - Milltek TBE

Hey thanks for the prices Simonm!Originally posted by simonm View PostAhhh - I thought by 'usual DP' he meant original stock DP. That's why I included the page that had all the dependencies for each APR stage. The rest of the pages were just for the prices.
Might be a good idea, If I can get it all done at once. Car is still undelivered so dont want to do everything ASAP as IM keeping it for a few years so want to keep it enjoyable, but that is a logical/good idea to save me some money if it proves to hard.Originally posted by Mr_Bob View PostREXman:

So If what I am saying is not possible (getting an upgrade to Stg II), do you think I would just have to pay the 10 mins labour to upload STG II map If I have already bought stg 1? Im guessing you dont have to buy stg II all over again just for an airfilter upgrade. Never know though.. So who's the best APR guy in Sydney?Originally posted by Mr_Bob View PostREXman:

The original guy and the guy who still seems the most involved with the local VAG tuning scene, is Derek at European Autotech. He is who I went to for my do the Oettinger bodykit/wheels and APR Stage II upgrades on my MKV GTI. He also did the Stage I on the Polo GTI. He can also do your servicing for you as well. In addition, and something that I know you'll all appreciate - he's been just helpful to me in post-sales queries as he was in pre-sales queries.Originally posted by REXman View PostSo who's the best APR guy in Sydney?
