When did you first have the problem? If it was just before 30,000kms, then you'd have to wait until you reached ~60,000kms to confirm if the problem was properly fixed or if the clutch replacement is a workaround. Are there any differences with the replacement parts compared to the original ones, etc?

 First experienced the shudder yesterday on my car (just reached 40,000 km). Should I book it in now or wait until it does it all the time? Concerned that it won't do it when I take it in. Anyone had their clutch(es) replaced by Denlo Parramatta?MY09 118TSI - SOLD

 You could ring up just to let them know, but they probably won't do anything until one of there guys experiences the problem for themselves while they're with you on a drive.

 I just took mine in for it's 45,000km service at Baroworld Mascot this week. Went on a road test with one of the mechanics. I was told that they were going to do a software update first, let me drive it for about 500km and see if the problem comes back. If it did then they would look into the mechanical components.
 
 But when I went to pick up my car they told me they had already ordered a clutch pack and booked my car in for 2 days to get the new clutch pack installed (under warranty).
 
 I too was concerned that I would not be able to demonstrate the shudder, but I discovered that it get's worse the longer I drive the car. So I just drove around for a while before taking the car in to the service centre.

 Wangara VW want me to bring the car back for further investigation.... will do that and hope that they will have a fix for it as I have had the DSG re-flashed a few weeks ago at the 15k service.MY14 Audi S3 - Misano Red, S-tronic, Performance pack with parade red trim.

 DSG "shudder"
 
 I was driving the family golf VI tsi (the base model), and I found the clutch seems to occasionally "shudder" as though the electronics are sending conflicting signals to it.
 It happens usually when you've come to a standstill more or less, and accelerate slowly.
 Actually it seemed to happen also when stepping on it a little from standstill.
 And I was surprised that in slow heavy traffic, it's quite rough when it engages and disengages.
 Not overly rough, but defintely enough to bother me.
 I've had a fair bit of experience driving an S3 with the 6 speed DSG, and I find that almost perfect.
 
 Is this a common complaint with this car?
 It has done 20,000 k's btw, and is about 18 months old from memory.

 7 speed DSG shuddering
 
 Seems like a lot of you are having this problem with the clutch pack. My suggestion is to refer to your dealer's service center, they will normally carry out a basic settings on the clutch adaption and a specific road test. A request for a set of new clutch packs can only be send to VW after this is done and when the problem still persist, even after a few months without issue.
 
 
 Disclaimer: I act here on my own thru my personal experience and not on behalf of VW or the VW dealership I work for.

 no doubt they're just concerned about having to do a recall for all golfs once they admit there's a design flaw.

 I was not happy with my DSG this afternoon driving home in busy freeway traffic. It kept jumping into 5th gear at only 40kph, making lane changes a pain. Then for some reason, when turning right, it held a low gear a lot longer than normal (didn't accelerate hard), which made me think I was manual, so I shifted up to Neutral making it really rev loud.  
 
 Someone please give me a good reason for why I'd be in such a hurry to switch from D to N without needing to press in the gear lock.

 Clutch Replacement 2 weeks ago Now lost gear selection
 
 I had the clutch pack replaced just under 2 weeks ago. It got rid of shudder so I was very happy. .... But driving home tonight I lost the gear selection while I was crossing an intersection. The lights just flickered then neither the auto nor manual gear selector would select a gear; wouldn't select reverse either. Accelerator resulted in engine revving, but no movement.
 
 I've ended up getting the car towed and now have to wait to Monday to start getting it sorted. I wonder if these are related issues. I really love the car so hopefully this is a fixable blip.

 Like I said in previous post. New clutch put in at about 30k now at about 45k with no sign of shudder. Now every once and a while ( becoming more frequent- about every 2/3 time I go for a drive) when coming off coasting and applying mild acceleration, I get a tic tic tic tic slight loos of power and a puff of black smoke out the back. Service guys contacted vw service line, apparently it's a first. They think the new pump will fix it. Spewin my car is the guinea pig.
