10 months after getting my clutch pack replaced.... it's back!
It only occurs after about a 45 minute drive. Which is how it started the first time as well. It progressively get's worse and the time it takes to show it's ugly face decreases. Now just need to find time to take it back to the dealer.
Although I'm out of the original warranty period, and I did get extended warranty, this should be covered under the original warranty as they have failed to fix a problem that was started during the original warranty period.

My clutches are still good after a week. Definitely better than the 1st replacement. 1 caveat is that I am using manual mode 100% as recommended by Guy_H until I can get the DSG tune

So that's the 3rd time they've replaced it?
They must be sick of you by now

Got my vehicle back today after VW removed and replaced multi clutch pack. There were not ECU upgrades. The drive back to office was good. Gear change from D1 to D2 was smooth. Hoping this will last.

Very true. However, the 1st time it was replaced, I knew straight away it didn't work as there was shudder from D1 to D2.Originally posted by Ryan_R View PostKeep us posted, but 2 days seems a little early to celebrate. My first replacement was perfect for 7 days before a few niggles resurfaced.
Apparently my DSG was given a new program at the 45k service earlier this year and I've noticed both improved shift points (7th gear is now around 75km/h not 58km/h), more willingness to kick down 1 gear on steep inclines, and increased use of 1st gear for takeoffs (although D2 is still used for faster crawl takeoffs). I'm hoping the new software program will have less wear on the clutches - particularly the surprise in increased use of 1st gear for takeoff.

I think my saga is over!!! I just had the clutch pack replaced a 2nd time (Just before warranty ran out) and this time I think they've solved the problem. Fingers crossed so far there is no shudder from D1 to D2 and in 2 days I think I have covered enough variety of driving conditions. Probably wait another week before definitively celebrating, but so far so good
The service guys told me that the clutch pack has been redesigned for 2012. Doesn't make sense to me as I thought a friction pad is a friction pad.
Anyway, I am thinking of the DSG tune to preserve the life of the new clutches.

Nope. You guys need to start asking questions I suppose.

Seems like it is more serious in China as those components are all made in China?Originally posted by mr gee View PostI picked these up from a Singapore forum

Those made in German are already having issues so can't see how "made in China" would make it any better or equal in quality.
So in Oz do we get any extended warranty on the DSG?

VW has begun offering FIVE year warranties on DQ200 DSGs in Singapore now. I think things are changing now. Seems like there may be inherent flaws in this DSG for now.

First occurences were on the way home from APR in fact. I've had the tune off since (had it on once or twice to compare) and while it's definately better in stock, there is still the odd hiccup.Originally posted by omgolf View Postbefore or after the APR reload Ryan?

Mine was smooth for about a week, still better than before but some of the weirdness is starting to return here and there...
