Slight correction.. I microfibre twice so it doesn't leave streaks, then I use a milk crate next to each wheel and the grill and hand dry all the fiddly bits, then polish the exhaust followed by vacuum the interior.. then if I have enough light I wax a panel..Originally posted by adzy View Post.... and I bet every time you finish chamoising after a wash you stare and smile!
then a smile a little knowing the last hour and half was worth it and the neighbours think I am goddamn nuts but damn I want that blue to pop...

Now thats love! Good to hear, and the neighbours thinking your nuts must be a side effect that all RB owners have as DaveR's neighbour also thinks his nuts after seeing him wash his in the rain LolOriginally posted by SilvrFoxX View PostSlight correction.. I dont know how quick the RB gets noticably dirty but the PB is a magnet for dirt lol, this shotty weather Melbourne is having aint helping. I've spent a good 3+hrs washing and polishing this last weekOriginally posted by SilvrFoxX View PostSlight correction.. ummm nothing wrong with that.. thats why I bought a house with a double garage and had the centre pillar removed so I could wash it outside and dry it inside..Originally posted by adzy View PostNow thats love! yeah thats why I didn't get Black.. even though I am a wax junkie just couln't handle washing it and then have it dirty 15 minute later.. but as for the RB getting dirty it doesn't show it as quick as the PB but it has the same issue with the negative vacuum at the back and the rear gets filthy no matter the weatherOriginally posted by MiiLos View PostI dont know how quick the RB gets noticably dirty but the PB is a magnet for dirt lol, a!Current Ride: MY 16 Daytona Pearl Grey Audi S3- Performance Pack 1, Sunroof and Driver assist

But it's those wheels! And the goddamn soft euro brake pads! Talk about elbo grease!
Almost worth getting those stupid pizza-plate GTI wheels for easy cleaning if they didn't look so daft compared to the R's 19 T's (more daft than pretty much any other wheels I can think of)

This is more of a cleaning and preening discussion but to keep it on topic I can say that the Detroits would be a heap easier to clean on the GTI, even though the pads are dusty as buggery, the Teledagas on the R really are fiddly and consume an enormous amount of time to get sorted. However i found that these wheels have the same coating as the body paint and if you apply a heat resistant wax.. it is cheap and effective, you can get away with using a Katcher to strip it off pretty quickly.
I spend the extra time getting it to really look clean but if you are nit that fussy this approach is as good as anyCurrent Ride: MY 16 Daytona Pearl Grey Audi S3- Performance Pack 1, Sunroof and Driver assist
