I was poking around the Q7 cluster with VAGCOM and found the bytes to activate the lap timer and the needle sweep were there, but just not activated.

Haven't seen anything about a laptimer for the R yet, but they already have the needle sweep, so there may also be an unactivayted byte for this as well.

They told me this also when I was thinking of ordering one. The words were "November - at the earliest".

For the people stating the November dates, when was your order placed? I'm waiting on a call back from my dealer to clarify my info but my order was I was led to believe that my order was submitted about a week or 2 before the actual launch date, whenever that was.

Well, the "Delivery Date" is always just a "best guestimation". Build dates have not be allocated yet on any order since release...

Hmm what about this post, is the dealer feeding misinformation or what?

My dealer originally was quoting build date of wk 38 now wk 41making 2010 delivery touch and go

I'm hoping you're all being told Nov cos you left the order to launch day and mine does come when they said because I got it in earlier. But don't see how I can take delivery in Aug/Sep if it hasn't already been built and basically on a boat.

wow, it pays to be patient ...... I have exactly the same car, delivered in June 73,300 drive away..... the price you pay for not waiting.... did not think the gap would be that much. love my car but Barloworld must be laughing all the way to the bank!!!

That's not going to happen, i'd rather wait and get exactly what you want as well as a killer discount.

Would be tempting if there was something close to what you wanted but still not worth paying RRP.
