Same with mine 4800 on clock, 12 month but cost $455 at Lennock VW ACT (dealer)
Wow you really went to Lennock??? Go to Canberra VW Centre at Tuggeranong or Belconnen. Same service would have cost you under $300 and been done by a mechanic who actually give a toss.
2008 VRS Wagon. Yellow, very yellow!
Forever blowing bubbles.
My first service is coming!! I want to see if there are any alternate places that others recommend before I let my local dealer take my $$$.
What's the best price and where?
Also does anyone know how much a OEM Oil Filter cost? Want to see if it is worthwhile to import some.
Cheers,
Kenny
location please?
ive taken my car to european autotech for all my servicing. and my brother took his b5 rs4 there for 7 odd years.
i would look for a well known vag independent. i would avoid stealers if at all possible.
i would also supply ur own oil as it saves u a few dollars if ur worried about costs. oem filters, yeah, maybe, but thats probably more for if u do ur own oil changes regularly.
some guys change their own oils every 5k km at home, so they might have a need to get supplies at a cheaper price.
either way, let us know where in syd ur located, and then we can go from there

Located in the Hills. I don't mind travelling for a good service.
I got quoted ~ $450 at Artarmon, (Chatswood Classic Cars).
The thing with dealers is, I don't feel like a full service with all the checks is actually done for the extreme price paid.
Some recommendations could help ease my mind. =)
northshore vw now. christ, i would just take it to cpc seeing as ur already 2 shops up the road.
otherwise, isnt ramspeed in seven hills. they do some top notch high end modifications as well as having general servicing of most major euro makes

I live in the Hills as well, I took mine to Blacktown vw, they can't advertise they can service anything else but commercial vehicles but you can book in whatever you like. I think I paid $360 or so at my 15K service. They picked up an oil leak coming from the turbo and fixEd it all under warranty.
Now the only issue is you end up voiding your dealer extended warranty but I am not sure that is worth anything. I plan on taking it back there for my 30K service in May
Current Ride: MY 16 Daytona Pearl Grey Audi S3- Performance Pack 1, Sunroof and Driver assist
Yeah it does void the dealer warranty but I heard it is pretty much useless. I should use the discount on the first 3 service to contribute to getting a proper extended warranty.
Golf R DSG, 12 month service (5850 km) $460. Austral VW. First service now done, will be looking at independent supplier to look after from here on in.
