I may have had a clutch slip in my mk6 118TSI or perhaps a 7speed DSG problem, it happened a couple of times and each was during sharp cornering and accelerating at the same time. I heard banging noise and sounded like the gear couldn't get engaged or something. When I released the accelerator then push it again gently then it went ok.
Have no issues or whatsoever with my Mk6 GTI DSG gearboxMitsubishi Pajero Sport - Super Select 2WD/4WD

The issues I've had with the DSG have all occurred whilst driving in a slow, responsible manner.....
It's come to the point where I now turn corners at a slow speed (D) and just touch the accelerator to avoid the 'jolt' into gear.
I don't care what anyone says...this is not normal.GOLF R Stage 2+

Unfortunately this is the most common negative comment when motoring Journos review the VW DSG box.
it is a problematic symptom when urban driving in "D"
It doesn't happen in "S"
so many journos have commented on it that it is rare to find a review that doesnt mention it.Golf R MY 11.5 United Gray, 3 door, DSG, ACC, Free MDI, Bluetooth

Exactly right! I have had my R for 14000kms and have a mark 5 gti with 110000 kms in the garage and traded a passat r36 with 18000 kms in for the R. Both have/had dsg boxes and they do not/did not behave like my current ride . I have had the car back on 2 occassions and on each I was told that a software upgrade was done. On the last occassion 2 weeks ago I actually spoke to the visiting VWA rep who was visiting and his words to me were that this was a recognised problem now and that the most recent software upgrade "should fix it"!!. Just to be clear it is not normal for your box to actually miss a gear and almost redline whilst it then picks up its next gear......bizarre and very much a problem in traffic!!!! Anyway it is now 2 weeks since my last visit to the servive department and so far so good.Originally posted by masev View PostThe issues I've had with the DSG have all occurred whilst driving in a slow, responsible manner.....

I have the R booked in 4th March and hope the problem will then be resolved.

as I was leaving the house this morning, forgot my phone and went back into the house leaving the black to idle and warm up. 3 minutes later back in the seat, shifted into D, slight acceleration, nothing.... then a very distinctive gear crunch and thud. Not freaking out - Not assuming anything, but have noticed this in the past, as a gear slip. this was a crunch and a thud...Black 3dr, DSG, ACC, 19" Black Talladega's, Heaps of Goodies - Double Tint - APR Stage 1 - Delivered and Lovin' my R

I was hoping their would be an easy check,
Its Gotten to the stage where i no longer drive my R because of the amount of oil leaking from it
Its been to the local dealer and they have tried to tell me it is "Protection Wax melting from the engine and dripping onto the floor"
This is the result of driving home from the dealer yesterday and being in the garage for 1 hour
I then cleaned it and check the car later in the evening and found a similar size pool of oil
And its like this everytime i check the car which makes me think wherever its coming from will be getting low on oil
I have ruled out engine oil due to the colour (it is almost clear/light brown) so its leaving me to think its coming from the gearbox?
Seems to be seeping through a gasket

Have you shown the dealer the picture? Maybe you could soak it up with absorbant power towel, put that in a plastic zip lock bag, and then take it to the service centre. Maybe the smell would be enough for them to figure out what it is?
