Maybe the median age would be more useful
But that won't necessarily the "average age" of golf drivers. It would only be the average age of the people who bought it.

Alot of people see golf as a great first car for their daughters and sons. Therefore you won't really get an accurate age of who drive golfs.... more than likely alot of late 40s and 50s or even 60s "own" a golf, but their kids drive it. Therefore the "average age" would be much higher.

Because if i was 40 or 50, and i have the money to buy my kids a car, i would most likely choose a golf over say a toyota.

I am 44 so I guess my average age is about 22. Dunno how that effects things.

              42.... (but not feeling it)

Had a yellow beetle tdi with sunroof and loved it (all except the ordinary quality control), but have also always really liked the Golf.

Traded the beetle for a white 118 tsi with Sport pack, and had that written off by the recent hail after 4 weeks - ordered another one (in black) due for delivery around the 15th April.

The mx5 is really fun to drive!! owned a na1 and nc previously, i miss it to be honest. None of the other cars i've owned either similar price or much more expensive compare to it.

Wow you have bought a lot of cars in the past and current... by why so many astras? and a saab?

I agree. Out of all the cars I've owned, the MX5 is teh one I miss the most. Such a small yet capable engine, such a gorgeous gearchange, and each time you drive it it just begs for more and more. Car control excellent, and such a joy to drive even in traffic. Even better, once you own one, you dont have to cart people around each time you go out....

So Many GM products means one thing... GM employee pricing. Helps when you have access to that, as well as Ford employee pricing!
As you can see I turn over the cars quite frequently. The astras were in deed a fantastic package. Shame no longer brought here. But, since GM didnt sell off OPel, there is hope yet! (I would have considered an Astra VXR if they were here now).

why the SAAB? Nothing else from GM excited me at the time, and Astra's were no more. Long list of standard features (HID, proper leather in fantastic electric seats with memory, voice control bluetooth, Bose sound, etc etc) And in all seriousness, it is a 400Nm car, returning fuel economy under 7L/100km, with a list of standard features that if ticked on an option box for a Golf would double it's price... Oh, and a little tuning box from teh UK for under $600 puts the power up to 520Nm....

It's robbery that Bluetooth and leather are not standard on the GTI!!!!

RE SAAB - one of the crappiest good cars I have ever drove (i think its on a second spot for me after bmw 320i) good thing they are no more ....

RE GTI I do agree that car should have a bit more standard extras especially things like blue-tooth ... but I dont want leather ... I just dont like it (have to agree that its more practical and easier to keep clean) but its jsut not for me
His: Golf6 5door GTI DSG Carbon Sunroof MDI and 18" Drag rims + sticker that gives extra horse power
Hers: Skoda Kodiaq Tech/Lux pack and sunroof

Actually Saab is still in business for the forseeable future. Spyker (a performance car brand from Sweden) has completed the purchase from GM and manufacturing is back to 'normal'.

I reckon that's just prolonged the death of SAAB

They are always talking about competing with Audi/BMW, and until they stop kidding themselves, they won't succeed

Spyker also doesn't sound like a company that can afford any major plans to turn the company around, nor can it afford the run of bad news it's sure to get for at least a few years to come
