Well i got the timeline for our R from my dealer on Saturday. ETA has gone from March to January It will probly be delayed at least twice though i would think

Not due until April next year. How do I ensure that the car has been placed in the queue?
I have heard stories of dealers or Volkswagen 'forgetting' to pur the order in the system and it has delayed the car even further.

hey Herb, did you get your dealer to check other dealers stock? I'm not sure what options you are after but I know a few R's arrived in the country a couple of weeks back.. (I know, because i managed to get myself one without waiting).. theres a couple with all the fruit..sat nav etc..but yeh..might be worth calling up and asking them anyway? Gold Coast has a 3door CW DSG + leather + sunroof and black wheels instock and a white 5 door CW manual..

even if the car has silver wheels on it, you can get the dealer to swap black wheels off another car..but yeh, might be worth looking in to?

I am in no particular hurry at the moment for the car, and have looked far and wide(within NSW) for a low spec MY 12 white DSG. I just wanted to ensure that the car will arrive as close to the dealers expected date.

I don't really want to pay for extras that I don't want ( mainly sunroof and leather).

Herb, ask your dealer for a NADCON screenshot (this will have info about the options you have opted for, estimated delivery date, your name and many more details...).
If you have just ordered the car (within last one week or so) then wait and ask for NADCON screenshot after a month or so.

I ordered mine in mid July and will ask for a NADCON screenshot in October (Mine will be Built and Make 2012).

hi All, finally picked up my GTI today after nearly 4 months of torture since ordering. Its a MY12, so BT & MDI were free................. in a word, WOW !!!!!!!!!!, what a car !!!!!!!.................its my 1st VW too

I can highly recommend Paul Hyslop (or David holmes) from Paul Wakeling Cambelltown who looked after me from order to delivery. Excellent deal too btw, paid $47000 driveway (about 11% discount) for cw 5door dsg rvc sunroof & leather............the deal was originally an eofys, but they failed to deliver due to limited/nil stock, Paul said he would still honour the deal though.

Good luck to the rest of you who are waiting, its bloody agony i know, but well worth it i can guarantee !!!!!!
