Well... Today i Received a pic of my car sitting in the pick-up area within the showroom. Looks amazing! Then received a phone call from my dealer with some bad news.. A small scratch has been spotted above the wheel arch.

Apparently VW HQ took photos of it today and have approved a touch up repair. They a claiming this occurred at the factory.

I'm not letting the news affect the hype. It's a scratch. It can be fixed.

Ok got the car, simply amazing. Very unique spec.. I did well with my choices. Will take some pics later and post.

The scratch - i got it wrong, it's not the wheel arch, it's the top of the rear spoiler. When opening and closing the boot the paint touches the metal on the car. VW reckon the boot might need to be re-aligned. I know It may sound bad but it's actually not. They could have used touch up paint and I wouldn't have noticed, but as you said Silverfox... They were honest and transparent. Great service all round.

Knock yourself out with Valium and it will fly fast. Alternative is you don't sleep and it will be a long wait. Trust me on this one.

Long term reader and must compliment everyone on the amount of information provided on the forum which provided the information I needed for the purchase of a new Golf R.

Ordered a Candy White 5 Door DSG with leather drive way for just over 57K contributing close to 10% discount

Thanks to Corey_R on the Gold R Price Calculator which aided the purchase and negotiations with the dealer

I am a long term owner of a Ford Focus XR5, with the Golf R purchased for the wife, and looking forward to becoming a long term contributor towards the forums.
The option of the DSG was the deciding factor due to the wife not being able to drive Manual and my requirements for a drop dead Georgous German Hot Hatch.

The car arrives in September so the wait is not long compared to the original wait I had to endure for the XR5.

Waiting a week in total. I rang around NSW Volkswagon dealers a couple of weeks ago in addition to visiting a couple in the Metro area. Amazing there is a couple of cars without owners arriving in NSW in the DSG variety in Rising Blue with Leather in at least 3 dealerships i visited.

I had four strict requirements, Candy White, DSG, 19 inch alloys in silver and leather, my chosen dealership managed to satisfy 3 of the 4 requirements and presented the option of clading the cloth seats in leather with a heated seats option retrofitted.

Doesn't always show the ships as it depends on AIS transmission but I then switch to a tracking tool that users weather reporting from the ships
