Woot, my car has finished being built and has so far traveled from Germany and is currently sitting in England - ETA for the Boat into Brisbane is 14/03/2011, so then I guess I need to wait a couple of weeks to get through customs and to the dealer etc...

Love how we can track the boat so we know where it is at... Lets hope those nasty floods and cyclones stay away dammit!

I went through Garry Crick Autos up in Noosaville, was the only dealer willing to give any sort of Discount from the standard pricing..

Finally picked up mine at midday today, now with 900km under the belt she's loosening up nicely.
The weather between Sydney and melbourne was not exactly perfect photo weather though... Recaro's are super comfy - as good as the ProBax seats in the Lotus.

Heads to see VolksPower tomorrow morning for Stage 1. Looking forward to unlocking the true potential!

A collegue of mine picked his up on Tues (same specs except for recaro's) so we will do some stock vs stg 1 comparisons on two near new ~1000km cars.

Congrats, of course. I take it you drove it back to Melbourne from Sydney. Run-in done I suppose. Not that you had a choice but were you not a touch concerned that SYD-MEL might not be ideal trip for run-in?

It will take some time to clear, so I'm hoping late march.

Same specs as me.
Wow seems like it's either the base/standard options for the 11.5 GTi's or everyone just has same taste in options.
I also optioned the detroits as well.

I guess we are going to see alot more CW Gti's on the road in the upcoming months.

Not on the Queen Sapphire. Managed to get loaded earlier onto the Morning Conductor instead.

I didn't bother with Detroits 18". Likely to get something else later, maybe BBS or VMR.

I just made sure to run it in as my other cars. Plenty of load on the engine to high revs then slow down in gear to suck out the crap. I did a lot of that on the way down! Slow to 60, hard on the throttle for 10s, slow again. Making good power now and even more since Dean did a Stage 1 upgrade on it this morning!

Turns out his car has very similar plates To mine too! Both white R's with black wheels - GLFR and V GLFR

Yeah - that's what the dealer said - 6 months. I comfortable with that though. Save some more $$ in the mean time.

Better to set a conservative ETA and then come in early, than set an aggressive ETA and fail...
