It may be the case that the car ordered for HY001 was one with normal wheels & they are doing a "wheel swap". Not uncommon as it sometimes enables the dealer to find a car faster for the client.
Hi phantomcamel! You are correct. Dealer is doing a 'wheel swap' so I could get it before June 30 (EOFY Sale) however the only issue is that nobody is giving up there Detroits!

I believe they took delivery of the car this week.. Hope they are not using for 'test drives'. I can hear her calling my name. Fingers crossed this week!

True. You could reset it by pushing certain buttons (but I cannot remember what they are now) - I didn't bother as my Mk5 GTI had only 8 klm on it when I picked it up. I do remember there was a limit to the number of times it could be done - once or maybe twice.

            • I was originally advised that it would be delivered 1st March. So close to cancelling the order - but was talked out of it. Anyway the 3 days of absolute enjoyment I have had so far was definitely worth the wait. So many people have been gobsmacked about the quality and performance. Nice 40th birthday present to myself.

                • I picked up my deep black GTI this morning and it's just incredible... i love it..

it's amazing how quickly they organised everything after i signed the contract last week..

I got the detroits as the price is just too good for a set of 18's with tyres... even though i am not a big fan of the detroits..

                  • Ordered:
                    GTI
                    Manual 5 dr.
                    Silver
                    18" Detroits
                    MDI

The dealer has given me a VIN but it will not work on the tracking website? I grabbed a different VIN from carsales to test and it worked so not too sure whats going on there...

Ordered on the 18th May from Barloworld Glen Waverley. They tell me its with Patricks at the moment so It'll be around 2 wks..its killing me I have zero patience..

Nope, Don Quijote for my car. It's been a reasonable turnaround as it came off the boat on the 15th (technically the 16th by 40 minutes).

Back then it might have been still legal? But I heard of the once-of rule too. I am not sure if that is still an option though.
